However, they didn't say it couldn't be individual RECHARGEABLE AA or AAA batteries. But these come with a battery pack that stays in the radio while you dock the radio on its charger. Replacing the packs should really be the question. Someone from manufacturer should've responded to this question. If no one at Best Buy can answer the question I'd recommend you contact Midland. First I'd see if Best Buy sells the rechargeable replacement battery packs. Good luck.
