About this product
The English village mystery gets a contemporary spin in this hit British television series that has earned a worldwide following. Bucolic settings harbor macabre crimes and eccentric characters that are no match for Detective Tom Barnaby (John Nettles, BERGERAC); his assistant, DS Ben Jones (Jason Hughes, THIS LIFE); and his cousin, DCI John Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon), who succeeds Tom upon his retirement. Delightful in a murderously charming way (Leonard Maltin's Movie Crazy). Guest stars include Kevin McNally, James Wilby, Mark Gatiss, Peter Egan, and Michelle Fairley. THE MYSTERIES (original UK broadcast order) the Made-to-Measure Murders - a widow is killed on her way to confession. The Sword of Guillaume - Barnaby investigates a land deal in Brighton. Blood on the Saddle - a property-line dispute turns a Wild West show into a crime scene. The Silent Land - a librarian is found dead on top of a grave. Master Class - Competition in a prestigious music class unearths a long-kept secret. The Noble Art - a reenactment of a championship boxing match turns deadly. Not in My Back Yard - a clash over property development leads to a string of murders. Fit for Murder - a gruesome discovery interrupts the Barnaby's' spa weekend.
