Mike Doughty - Haughty Melodic - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Mike Doughty - Haughty Melodic [COMPACT DISCS] Deluxe Ed, Rmst date 06/10/2016

Former Soul Coughing frontman Mike Doughty is a true multi-media artist musician, songwriter, poet, playwright, photographer, and an avid, eloquent blogger. On this 2008 album, Doughty and Grammy-winning producer Dan Wilson worked with Doughty's touring band to craft a driven, organic sound around Mike's savvy, agile lyrical escapades. Lead track 'Fort Hood' is named for the U.S. army base that has suffered the greatest number of casualties in the Iraq War; the anthem was inspired by a visit to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. in less somber moments, 'Put It Down' is a hip-shaking Pop gem, and the fan favorite '27 Jennifers' was recorded with a live band for the first time. Golden Delicious is the follow-up to Doughty's album Haughty Melodic (2005). 11 tracks. ATO.

Genius lyricist, musician, songwriter, poet, playwright, photographer, columnist, blogger and true multi-media artists Mike Doughty, has given into the pressure he has felt for years from fans to record an acoustic album again, on his new album, SAD MAN HAPPY MAN. SAD MAN HAPPY MAN isn't entirely acoustic - Doughty's experimentation with drum machines and Ableton software adds a larger dynamic to Mike's acoustic efforts along with cello player Andrew InchScrapInch Livingston.
