Vinyl LP pressing. 2017 from Phish bassist Mike Gordon. Produced by Grammy Award-winning engineer Shawn Everett, Ogogo was recorded earlier this year in Boston and LA, and features Mike's regular touring band Scott Murawski (guitar/vocals), Robert Walter (keyboards), John Morgan Kimock (drums), and Craig Myers (percussion). Ogogo is Gordon's fifth solo album following 2014's Overstep, 2010's Moss, 2008's The Green Sparrow and 2003's Inside In. In addition to bass, Gordon is an accomplished banjo player, and is proficient at piano and guitar. He is also a filmmaker (Rising Low, Outside Out) and author (Mike's Corner). Musically, Gordon's influence is the most obvious in Phish's many different renditions of various bluegrass, calypso, and even traditional Jewish songs. He also contributed by singing, as well as writing off-beat lyrics to amusing but thought-provoking songs.

Vinyl LP pressing. 2014 , the fourth solo album from the singer/songwriter best known for his work with Jam band legends Phish. After multiple writing retreats and an album's worth of core tracks in hand, Gordon took a leap of faith, and hired Paul Q. Kolderie (Radiohead, Hole, Pixies, Dinosaur Jr..) as producer to bring the project home. Gordon had self-produced all of his previous albums, but felt he was ready to surrender control to someone who understood his vision and loved the material. Gordon cites three goals that he kept in mind throughout the process from start to finish Find ways to be raw and sophisticated at the same time; Be groove oriented; Write songs that will be fun to play live. Whether an explicit goal or not, the songs on Overstep evidence Gordon's evolving ability to develop three-dimensional characters within his songs, and to speak more directly to the truth of their condition.
