Mister Rogers - You're Growing - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Reissue of 1997 . Mister Rogers' Neighborhood premiered on television over five decades ago. It's impossible to know how many children's (and adult's) lives were impacted by it's positive and meaningful messages over the years. It's staying power has never lapsed. Academy and Grammy winning director Morgan Neville's 2018 documentary, Won't You Be My Neighbor?, reawakened our love for Fred Rogers, and introduced a new generation to him. With the 2019 of A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood (starring Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers in a Golden Globe®-nominated performance), the beloved Mister Rogers and his neighborhood is once again front and center in the hearts, minds, and ears of everyone.

Since 2010 the Associazione La Cantoria has dedicated it's energies to the rediscovery of unpublished musical compositions from Rome, transcribing, studying and performing these both live and recording them under the Tactus record tag. This CD is dedicated to the musician, composer and organist Francesco Giovannini who was chapelmeister at the Church of Santa Maria in Portico in Campitelli in the 18th century, and whose works are conserved in the archives of the Order of the Clerics Regular of the Mother of God in Rome. The best way to understand and appreciate a liturgical musical composition is to savor it the very same context where it was born and for which it was conceived. This is what this CD intends to do; to allow us to live the sonorous experience of an ancient mass of the Roman rite. These late-Baroque compositions by Francesco Giovannini shine like precious gems set in an antique piece of jewelry made of Gregorian chant, readings, and orations where the organ is heard almost fleetingly in those moments when the sound of the voice and other instruments is superfluous or even prohibited.

Even though Mister Rogers' Neighborhood ceased production in 2001 (with Fred Rogers passing away two years later), the show has been available and viewed every year since it's debut in 1968. Back In The Neighborhood The Best Of Mister Rogers, Volume 2 is another definitive excursion into the music and legacy of Fred Rogers. It contains 15 tracks drawn from You Are Special, Coming And Going, Bedtime, and You're Growing including 7 unique edits. Also featured is InchWhat Would You Like To Do TodayInch plus 5 previously unissued tracks. It's time to hop back onto the trolley and get Back In The Neighborhood!
