Manic No Wave sax frenzy! James White tore up the city blueprints and charted his own map through the sonic sprawl of New York, perfecting a jittery, manic attack on sax and vocals and adopting the persona of a lounge singer in the waiting room of Hell. A maelstrom of chaotic transformations of funk, jazz (et al.) with equal parts James Brown and James White originals that rank among the most incendiary in his repertoire, this album is available outside of Japan and on CD for the first time, including three bonus tracks including an incendiary cover of InchKing HeroinInch!1. Super Bad2. Melt Yourself Down3. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams4. Hot Voodoo5. Cold Sweat6. These Foolish Things7. Hell On Earth8. Almost Black*9. Contort Yourself*10. King Heroin**CD only bonus tracks, recorded live in Holland 1981
If you don't feel the groove then don't think to pull through. Lovestruck Gen Z tackles nu-disco. Angelic harmonies over funky, driving bass lines-producer Cameron Smith builds up contemplative atmospheres before reliably diving back into upbeat dance territory with the flick of his filter knob. Lyrically, Benét sings about getting a crush, keeping a crush, crushing on a crush, getting crushed on-this is 4 songs for checking InchyesInch on someone's Inchdo you like me?Inch note. Benét's harmonic sensibilities act like punctuation and their vocal delivery is always believable and honest. This Richmond, VA based duo is just getting started. Undeniably approachable, this is an EP for anyone who has indulged in a night drive with the windows down.
