I have not played this franchise before and I have to tell you...the first pitch to my in the tutorial mode and I hit it out of the park. What a better way to hook you then a home run right out of the gate. The controls were easy to learn and playing a full 9 innings doesn't get boring. My 3rd game played was a no-hitter. This has become another go-to game for me when i have time to spare.

Great gameplay and ease of use. Could get boring fast. They needed to spend more time developing commentary, celebrations and features.

The Show is one of the reasons I even own a PS4. I have always been thoroughly impressed with every iteration since the early PS3 days. If you enjoy a good baseball sim with true to life presentation then you have to buy this. You won’t be disappointed. It just gets better and better every year. Well...what are you waiting for? Pick this up today!!

Before I begin, the summary is just my frustration with it. You can fully play and enjoy the game without microtransactions as I have, but I feel slightly hindered. The game is amazing and has really helped my rekindling of baseball. Whether it's my journey to the show (although outfield can get kind of boring, constant fly balls that are easy to get to) or playing through my franchise where my Tigers are actually doing really well. I enjoy it a lot and would recommend it to anyone looking to play some baseball. With that said, the microtransactions are kind of everywhere. Maybe it's just my fault that I don't know how to get the coins fast enough, but it seems everyone has coins/stubs/whatever they're called to buy cool items/cards on the marketplace. Now this isn't really needed but I would like to get some better items than pretty much what I started with in my Road to the Show career. I get one new item every week-ish and it's usually worse than what I have anyway (think they were pre-order items). So, if microtransactions get under your skin real bad, they're here so maybe want to be weary. If you're just looking for baseball, look no further.

Needed a stocking stuffer for 82 year old father , his PlayStation 4 is hungry for new material , can't do better than this MLB BASEBALL 2018, Hay MLB 2019 is right around the corner in march but then again so is BEST BUY. Father got another birthday coming up soon, really got a great deal at best buy on this title the graphics are so real from a distance it looks like a real MLB game. Also bought dad hot shots golf of course this is his favorite game ever from best buy, they have a rather large selection of titles to choose from, i did really well there this year like always, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL ! Thanks BEST BUY !

Gameplay: Not much has changed since the previous installment, but the game feels more fluid after applying some sliders for realism. Everything is crisp and responsive. 5 stars. Presentation: While I preferred 17's presentation, there's little explicitly lacking in the new version. The commentary continues to set the standard for the sports sim genre, and the realism is excellent. More than once I've had a bystander comment that they thought I was watching a baseball game, not playing one. I'm not a big far of the large tile menu format, though. 4 stars. Graphics: While there is still the occasionally rendering problem that generates a frozen bat or a player passing through another player or object, this still looks and feels better than the average game. 4.5 stars. Overall: Not much to dislike about this game in terms of, well, anything. If you enjoy baseball and sports simulations, you won't be sorry about purchasing this.

Not a huge update from 17', but better in every department. The graphics, gameplay mechanics, and all the modes are tweaked in a positive way. So far it seems as though the online play has been smoothed out as well. Definetely recommended if you're a fan!

I was a little upset with this game but more so because it did not offer the online franchise mode. The graphics and contols that make this game hot are still there, but it is lacking an online franchise. WORTH GETTING!

This is my first time playing The Show in many years, and I'm very pleased with it for the most part. The graphics are stunning, and the overall presentation is top notch. As with most modern sporting games, I jumped right into the created player legacy mode, and this is where the game loses a star for me. Something as simple as throwing a ball to a base is so unintuitive and frustrating, I'm constantly throwing it into the outfield and losing points on my defensive numbers. I'm not sure if there an option to turn off the ridiculous slow motion mode it goes into when you try to do a simple throw to 2nd base, but I dread every time the ball gets hit to me because of how terrible it is. Otherwise, a fabulous experience.

The people look so real and feels like your in the game with them. My son loves this game because it is easy for him to understand. Look forward to getting other sport games.

The graphics are real nice, but the commentary has to be muted because it's terrible, and I find it interesting that players still can basically turn into ghost like creatures as they float straight through objects in their paths just like they did back on systems and games 20 years ago and animations are really comically glitchy......its like everybody involved phoned this one in....Expected so much more on a PS4 game like the show....I would only say it's worth getting if it's selling for about $20 because that's about all it is worth....Instead I'm back to playing mlb 2k11 on xbox360

It’s rare that a sports franchise video game would receive praise every year from players and critics alike, but MLB seems to be able to deliver. I absolutely love this game. It has so many different modes, including the weekly challenge mode which I have been surprised how much time I have sunk into that one little mode. Overall the game is just so tight and polished. From the sounds and quickness of the menu, to the in game mechanics and animations, there is a lot of love put into this franchise every year, and it shows. Highly recommend picking this up!

This game rocks! The graphics are great and controls make it fun to play but not too easy. The stadium graphics are amazing as well.

Playing this on ps4 pro and gameplay is silky smooth! Lots of hit variety and game plays very realistic. Sim heads will love this!

This is an easy game to get started. As your skills improve, you can advance the game to match. I'd highly recommend it!

I haven't bought an MLB game since the Show 13 so this was definitely different that that. I cant speak to how different it is from last years. The gameplay is very smooth and I really like where you can steal peoples fans and increase your own. But my favorite is the Road to the Show - best feature in my opinion. I will probably take a break and just play this for a couple of years as I see no point in buying the same game from year to year but this one was definitely a hit!

Nice quality graphics and easy to get the hang of. Fun to just sit back and play for a couple hours to unwind.
