Love my Moleskins
There is just something so satisfying about the look and feel of a moleskin. The leather binding, the sewn pages, the ribbon placemark and the elastic that keeps it shut when I toss it in my backpack, suitcase, or glovebox, and that holds in the souvenir napkins and pressed flowers. I use the moleskin for journaling when I travel. It fits easily into a pocket, backpack or purse, and I keep it handy to note my thoughts, or record the location of a photo, or to remember the name of a park or to sketch the landscape, or describe a special rock formation. Writing in it, I always feel like a traveler from back in the day, before laptops and blogs, when notebooks were leather bound because they needed to be sturdy to travel to exotic places and through all kinds of weather. So even if my work will not become the next travelogue, I can feel like a travelogue author while writing in it!

Moleskin Notebook
I have a large collection of moleskin notebooks at home and work in various sizes because they are durable and professional in style. I particularly like this specific item because it is pocket sized and fits inside of my handbag.

As an author, I've been a great fan of Moleskin quality for years. I use them to keep my most important notes, ideas and to capture my random "flashes of brilliance." The pocket size is a lifesaver. The paper takes a seemingly frictionless line of ballpoint or rollerball ink, pencil sketches, and even makes fountain pen work a delight. Can't beat the feel of it. Most of all, the binding, cover rigidity and paper color hold up without fail over the years I've worked with them. I still have them all, including my first, and that one is in as good shape today as when I filled in the last oage all those years ago.
