Coming from being a long time player of Monster hunter World - and someone who wasn’t a fan of Monster hunter rise - this game has been a great new entry into the series. It’s a lot more user friendly for new comers and still has the same, but more polished, gameplay and mechanics that made a fan to begin with. Looking forward to spending more time in the wilds! If you’re looking for a great game with an open world to get pulled into it. You like the progression grind of building your character and changing on the fly according to your mission - this one is for you! Highly recommend you at least give it a try.

Monster Hunter Wilds brings the same level of excitement as the previous titles but on a more cinematic scale. If you’re new to the series starting with this one is wise because you get all of the amazing gameplay from the past but on modern equipment! It’s worth the purchase.

The environments are just so breathtaking, and the monster fighting is crazy fun, too! It's the first game I've really played much of in the Monster Hunter series, but I've had a blast with it so far! Would definitely recommend to those who enjoy action with a diverse range of ways to fight. Oh, also fighting huge monsters. Its multiplayer does leave a lot to be desired, though, and the scoutflies can be pretty annoying at times.

The weather-shifting ecosystems are dynamic and visually striking on the PS5. However, the game leans significantly harder into an on-rails narrative with unskippable cutscenes in the early hours, making it feel a bit too hand-holdy for series veterans. While performance has stabilized with recent updates, there are still some noticeable framerate drops during chaotic hunts. Overall, it's a massive, highly accessible action-RPG that's a blast to play with friends, even if the progression feels a bit streamlined compared to past entries.

Yet what really stands out is the feel of the game—it’s clear Capcom designed this not just for solo grinders, but for tight-knit squads like mine who treat every hunt like a bonding experience. Even after dozens (maybe hundreds) of hunts, we’re still planning strategies, sharing builds, and finding new things to explore.
