Coming from being a long time player of Monster hunter World - and someone who wasn’t a fan of Monster hunter rise - this game has been a great new entry into the series. It’s a lot more user friendly for new comers and still has the same, but more polished, gameplay and mechanics that made a fan to begin with. Looking forward to spending more time in the wilds! If you’re looking for a great game with an open world to get pulled into it. You like the progression grind of building your character and changing on the fly according to your mission - this one is for you! Highly recommend you at least give it a try.

Monster Hunter Wilds brings the same level of excitement as the previous titles but on a more cinematic scale. If you’re new to the series starting with this one is wise because you get all of the amazing gameplay from the past but on modern equipment! It’s worth the purchase.

The environments are just so breathtaking, and the monster fighting is crazy fun, too! It's the first game I've really played much of in the Monster Hunter series, but I've had a blast with it so far! Would definitely recommend to those who enjoy action with a diverse range of ways to fight. Oh, also fighting huge monsters. Its multiplayer does leave a lot to be desired, though, and the scoutflies can be pretty annoying at times.

Monster Hunter Wilds represents a bold, cinematic evolution for the franchise. The combat feels sharper and more fluid than ever, thanks to the brilliant addition of Focus Mode and the ability to carry a secondary weapon on your Seikret mount. The weather-shifting ecosystems are dynamic and visually striking on the PS5. However, the game leans significantly harder into an on-rails narrative with unskippable cutscenes in the early hours, making it feel a bit too hand-holdy for series veterans. While performance has stabilized with recent updates, there are still some noticeable framerate drops during chaotic hunts. Overall, it's a massive, highly accessible action-RPG that's a blast to play with friends, even if the progression feels a bit streamlined compared to past entries.

Monster Hunter Wilds Review — The Hunt Never Ends (And I Don’t Want It To) I’ve poured countless hours into Monster Hunter Wilds with my work friends, and somehow, I’m still hungry for more. From the moment we loaded in, the game hooked us—not just with its stunning environments and jaw-dropping monster designs, but with how naturally it brought us together as a team. Every hunt feels like a shared war story in the making. Whether we’re perfectly synced or chaotically scrambling to stay alive, the camaraderie built through clutch revives, well-timed traps, and last-second kills is second to none. Some of our best after-work conversations have come straight from post-hunt breakdowns—and honestly, few games manage to blend that kind of teamwork and adrenaline rush so seamlessly. Wilds takes everything great about the series and turns it up. The monsters are more dynamic, the environments feel alive, and the weapon balance keeps things fresh no matter what role I take. Yet what really stands out is the feel of the game—it’s clear Capcom designed this not just for solo grinders, but for tight-knit squads like mine who treat every hunt like a bonding experience. Even after dozens (maybe hundreds) of hunts, we’re still planning strategies, sharing builds, and finding new things to explore. This isn’t just a game; it’s part of our routine now—and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Final Verdict: 10/10 — A must-play for anyone who wants more than just a game. This is a shared obsession, and I hope it never ends.

The game is very fun, this is a very good entry point if you're new to the Monster Hunter franchise, it does a good job of streamlining mechanics and teaching you the game through the story mode. Hardcore fans of the series may find it to be too easy, but so far I have found the game satisfying to explore and fight monsters. I think movement was a little better in Monster Hunter Rise on the Palamute but the Seikrets are still nice to have.

I bought Monster Hunter Wilds on PS5 as a Birthday present for myself. Personally, I really liked the new and the returning monsters. Plus, the story was interesting. Coming from someone who has played Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise, in my opinion, Monster Hunter Wilds is almost equal to Rise. That's mostly due to the characters. I cared ever so slightly more about the people and the NPCs than the people in Rise. The visuals do look a bit better than Rise, but none of them compare to World. Wilds does do a good job at getting the player's attention with he story and the new/returning monsters. But Rise has that mechanic that makes it so that you can ride on the monsters! I may not Love Rise, I cant ignore that mechanic. The Seikrets are a cool way of traversing the large landscapes in the game. You can even customize the colors and feathers of the seikret. However, I don't like how there's this mechanic that essentially automatically moves you to a desired pinned location on the map. Not to sound old, but back in my day, when I played Monster Hunter World you ran everywhere and there was an incentive to actually remember most of the landmarks and items located in the area and using your map. In my opinion, it was good to just take in the sights and sounds of the environment, from the beauty of the Ancient Forest to the latent beauty of the Rotten Vale. Not to mention how all the monsters interacted in their environment was a wonderful time as well. All this while doing a mission that lasts for like 50 minutes. The funny thing is, there were times in World where I would just go to these areas not because I had a mission, but because I needed some resources and I wanted to just take in the environment. no heated, intense battles, just walking around sometimes in my ghilie mantle collecting the occasional mining deposits, honey, etc. I just wanted to take in the location's vibe. And the off chance you do get lost while on a mission, Monster Hunter World has scoutflies which literally point you in the right direction. And Rise has these creatures known as Palamutes, which essentially serve the same function as Seikrets except Palamutes can actually fight with you. Seikrets only help you get to where you need to go quickly, and someone you can call on quickly during a monster hunt. In Rise and Wilds, its made too easy to just get anywhere and while yes its a "quality of life" improvement, it just tells the player: instead of taking your time and really take in the sights and sounds Wilds has to offer, just open your map, pin the monster, ride on your Seikret, and just pay no mind to the environment. blatantly in your face "". There's no incentive to take anything in the land... just go to the destination, hunt a monster, mission completed, rinse and repeat. Also there needs to be more of a challenge in Wilds. I lost multiple times in World even put +800 hours into that game. The challenge is what got me hooked. Every monster late game was a challenge and I loved that. Rise didn't have that for me and Wilds was so close. if I could I would give this game 3.5/5 stars, but I'll just round up. I would recommend this game to someone. Either this game or World because I'm biased. Maybe Rise solely because of that mechanic i said earlier.

Liked World, loved Iceborne, and loved Rise Wilds is beautiful, runs at a smooth 60fps in performance mode, the weapons all feel great to use, the monsters are super creative, and the game is dripping with lots of nice details. However, this game has some of the worst pacing I've played in a game. Rather than having a hub world where you get and post quests, focus on finding/fighting monsters, or exploring the environments at your own pace, the first several hours of this game force you into slow ridealongs with NPCs, find NPCs to talk to, and skip through yapathon cutscenes. After 20-30 minutes of this you'll end up in a fight that lasts 5 minutes and is so easy there's no threat of failure nor need to learn or prepare for the encounter. Like World, you need to get far enough into a quest for friends to join. What happened? In Rise you post the quest, friends join, and you do everything together. Not to mention, finding and grouping up with friends is way more cumbersome and obtuse than in World or Rise. Menus and UI were never MH's strongest attributes, but are even more unclear and difficult to navigate than ever. Wilds feels like 1 step forward in terms of performance, mechanics, and environmental richness, but 2 steps back in terms of pacing, multiplayer, and letting veterans enjoy more freedom earlier in the game

Bought this game with zero expectations and I am blown away. The story is rich and graphics are mind blowing. Gameplay is a little tricky at first, but worth the patience.

Monster Hunter Wilds is ambitious and sprawling, reworking the series into a grand open-world hunt across the Forbidden Lands with dynamic ecosystems, mounts, and seamless exploration that feels huge compared to older entries. The core loop — tracking monsters, carving parts, and crafting gear — still delivers visceral combats that hit hard and feel weighty when timed right, especially in multiplayer hunts. The environments are vibrant and atmospheric, and there’s real satisfaction in mastering weapon combos and targeting monster weaknesses.  But the execution is uneven. Technical issues and performance — particularly on PC — have dragged many players down, with mixed reviews reflecting optimization headaches and occasional framerate stutters.  Beyond that, the game’s pacing and difficulty have divided the community: some find it too easy and lacking the strategic grind of Monster Hunter World, while others feel the story and mission flow hold your hand too much and stifle true exploration.  In short: Wilds pushes the series forward with scale and ideas, but rough tech, diluted challenge curves, and fewer standout hunts (relative to past classics) make it a “good but flawed” experience that’s best enjoyed with friends — but might frustrate purists.

Wow. Just, wow. Monster Hunter Wilds is everything I hoped for and more! The visual fidelity is breathtaking; the environments are stunningly beautiful and deeply immersive. Exploring this vast, open world is a joy in itself, but what truly elevates the experience is how integral the world becomes to the hunt. Using the environment to strategically tackle monsters feels incredibly intuitive and rewarding. The combat depth has reached new heights. As a Charge Blade main, the newfound freedom to switch weapons on the fly mid-combat is revolutionary and keeps every fight feeling fresh and exhilarating. When a monster proves particularly challenging, being able to fire off a signal flare for backup is such a thoughtful and welcome addition. Combine all of this with a compelling story, and you have a truly unforgettable game.

It's a fantastic game with an amazing atmosphere and phenomenal gameplay. My only critique of the game is how long it feels to get started whenever I'm trying to progress through the story, it feels like I have a million conversations before the next monster appears, and even with all that dialogue I rarely felt any attachment to the characters. In the instalments that came before that wasn't an issue. Overall, fantastic game, would 100% recommend

The graphics are amazing the game is definitely easy for anyone to play its fun as ever and definitely a great game to play with friends everything about it makes you want to reccomend it to everyone

One of my favorite monster hunter games. It’s not perfect, some parts are pretty easy, but it plays great, and it looks great.

My favorite game franchise that I can finally play once more. Game can be difficult for people who are new new to the series but now this game has more friendly features for newcommers, they are going to have a blast.

A great game in the MH franchise. Is it perfect, No. Does it make improvement over the last entry, Yes! Is it a good time to play, heck yeah! Tons of free post launch content that makes this game even more fun and a great onlibe lobby. Game is cross platform so theres never a shortage of online cohorts and tou just cant beat squading up with up to 4 players online. One of the best purchases I’ve made recently and a must for a PS5 owner. If you’re fortunate enough to own a PS5 Pro the graphics get a nice boost, but drive sorry this plays excellently on the base PS5 too. Don’t let the haters out negative reviews push you away, this game is excellent. Highly recommend it!
