Morkgrim - Sogur Fra Nordfirdi - VINYL LP

Norwegian titan, Mork, was created by Thomas Eriksen in 2004, with the debut album 'Isebakke' eventually surfacing in 2013. Since then, Mork has been ceaselessly rising through the echelons of Black Metal, & on the heels of 2024's intense & groundbreaking 'Syv' opus - which has resulted in the band branching out with tours in the Far East & Australia - Eriksen continues on this evolutionary path with the new album, & what is undoubtedly set to be a new benchmark, 'Monolitt'. 'Monolitt' is an album that further expands the sonic & atmospheric depth of existing Mork releases; unafraid to challenge the listener, while steadfastly rooted in the cold traditions of the genre. With this uncompromising vision & direction for 'Monolitt', Mork delivers a sound which is brutal yet expansive, whilst also heavy & epic, for a relentless journey through the shadows of Norwegian Black Metal, while forging new paths within that ancient & revered framework. Across these songs, themes of collapse, transformation, isolation, & destruction form the central pillars. From the crushing burden of existence to spectral wanderings through forgotten landscapes, 'Monolitt' explores the human condition through bleak introspection & grand imagery. Nature rages, giants awaken, faith crumbles, all in pursuit of experience beyond the limits of flesh & mind. 'Monolitt' was recorded & performed primarily by Thomas Eriksen, with Asgeir Mickelson supplying drums, plus additional guest vocals coming from Øyvind Kaslegard of 'Svart Lotus'. The album was mixed at Toproom Studio by Børge Finstad (Mayhem), before being mastered by Jack Control at Enormous Door (Darkthrone), & at Appelbaum Mastering by Maor Appelbaum (Sepultura). The bold & striking cover image was created by Norwegian artist Kjell Åge Melland. This LP edition of 'Monolitt' is presented in a gatefold sleeve on pearl arctic & black marble vinyl.

Redferrin has spent years establishing himself as one of Nashville's most compelling songwriters before breaking out with a signature sound that merges country soul with modern urban influence. His new 13-track album, Been There Done That, serves as a reflective exploration of the heart and the highway. Primarily produced by Jake Saghi, with additional production by Jimmy Robbins, the project balances polished delivery with grounded, honest storytelling. Central to the record is the contrast between Tennessee roots and West Coast allure, highlighted by the pensiveInchIf I Was CaliforniaInchand the standout collaborationInchPalm TreesInch (feat. Wiz Khalifa). Throughout the tracklist, Redferrin navigates the Inchdefinition of insanityInch found in repetitive heartbreaks and late-night regrets. From the self-aware vulnerability of InchHeart A BreakInch to the weary resilience of the title track, the album offers a mature, nuanced look at an artist who has truly lived the stories he tells.
