I'm not going to lie when I say MK is my favorite game franchise of all time. I love the gore, the characters, the story, the secrets, and inside stuff that true MK fans know about, but adding DC characters was a bit dicey, but surprisingly works. The game's story is pretty straight forward with both universes colliding and each sides' main villians are turning into one and controlling everyone else through a type of berserk mind control. You can play as various characters in separate story modes, but it's nothing special. The Arcade mode is where it's at with all you favorite MK characters and DC characters such as Batman, Superman, Cat, and even Capt Marvel. Each character on the DC side has their signature powers and they are awesome to play as. The game's combat system is more like it's roots stripping away combat styles, weapons, and complicated combos with just fast paced fun. The animations are smoother, controls respond better, and the game really packs a punch. Of course it's hard to please both sides of the fence, but the MK side takes a hit with no gore. I guess Midway couldn't get the DC guys to allow Sub-Zero to rip Superman's head off so the Fatalities are pretty lame. They feature no gore, but just really brutal deaths, and the DC guys never kill so they are Heroic Brutalities...yeah what BS. This really screws the MK fans, but the DC guys are very tight arsed about everything, and that's why I still think this should have been Marvel instead (the last Wolverine game was gory as sin). Some DC Hero Brutalities are OK at best. Joker's one of my favorites with him shooting a fake gun and dancing around in his silly fashion, but most are pretty lame like Green Lantern just running around a character a lot until they die...yeah really exciting. The MK characters are a little more retro with Scorpion turning characters into char so this is OK. I just wish the game would have been gory, but what's here is good enough. The MK guys really captured the characters of the DC personalities like Cat slinky sexy movements, Joker's maniacal pranks, Batman's precision martial arts, and Superman's brute force. It makes MK fans really want to try DC characters without sticking to their favorites. Or course the roster could have been a lot bigger, but thanks to Midway tanking extra downloadable characters will never happen like planned. There are some nice new features to the game such as a test-your-might type mini-game during Free Fall Combat and Close Combat which allows you to grab your opponent but the camera zooms in and you press buttons to trick them until get every hit in for 30% damage. Free fall is the same except you have to hit RB before you hit the ground to unleash an attack on them. This changes up the fighting and adds a nice tough, but could have been a bit more. The new Rage mode allows you to take advantage of this berserk mind control and makes you nearly invincible for a certain amount of time. Along with this combo breakers return, but that's about it. The game looks really good and is the first MK game on a next-gen console. Characters are rendered in sharp detail and have more detail than ever before. Each DC character has their signature costume and looks amazing, but the music is very lacking. The levels are great and wonderfully designed, and the VS player is what will make you keep coming back. While the game lacks the MK gore the fact that two highly unlikely worlds collide makes it great enough to play.

Great game....one of the few games I can play (and win!) against my children! A little graphic for my youngest 7, but still way better other violent combat style games. Play with The Joker or Superman and with a little practice you will be pwning...my children actually ask me to play, where as before with other games I was no challenge at all to them...Dad's still cool :)

we grew up on the original Mortal Kombat games in all the arcades. Now we get to relive our childhood days with this game combined with DC characters and the kids love it as well. Battle MK vs MK, DC vs DC, or MK be DC. So many characters to choose from with their own special abilities.

If you love DC Comics and Mortal Combat, You'll love this game. I play this with my son for hours learning special moves. Can't beat the price either.

Overall and simply put, this game pretty much rocks! It is thrilling to see how two different worlds can come together for the ultimate battle experience. Whether you are new to fighting games, or a skilled combatant, this game will keep you on the edge of your seat with stories, graphics and tons of characters that will be sure to excite you.

This is a great game with all the old school super heroes and mortal kombat characters. My son is really enjoying this version. He had Gods Among Us prior to this one but seems to like this version better because of all the new characters. This a great low cost game for 2 players and has great graphics too.

I was pretty disappointed by this title. I was hoping for some great controls and a weird mix of universes, but instead it felt clunky and unappealing. The only redeeming quality I found was the Flash's "Duck Walk" thing he does. If you pick the game up, hold down and kick as the Flash, and he'll do this slow unimpressive kick towards the enemy. It's funny to see one of the fastest moving superhero move at a pace of an elderly person doing a Cossack dance.

Purchased as a gift, I remember playing the original Mortal Kombat and this looks like a nice twist on the franchise if one is into combat games of this type.

This game is an interesting twist on the whole MK genre. But as a fan of MK since the first game I found myself giddy playing as DC against MK.

Decent game. Fun to see MK characters fight DC characters. Would like to see more of a rotating view during gameplay and more characters. If you're a DC fan , this one is a winner; otherwise, probably best to pass... would love to see a Marvel version!

Aside from getting it handed to me by my button mashing gf as kitana and wonder woman this is a great marriage of DC and mortal kombat with all the best hitters and fatalities.
