Happy that I was able to connect at the 1gig speed that was paid for, even though my modem was not on the Optimum Online/Altice certified device list. After doing much research I took a chance to purchase this modem. As an IT specialist, I purchased 3 different modems at the same time and decided 1 out of 3 is going to work and I can return the other two. I opened this Motorola first being that this is the one I really want to keep and was determined and hopeful that this modem can be provisioned and run at the service I paid for. After one additional call to Optimum, the Tech and I were able to have this up and running at full speed in less than 10min. I Never had to open the Netgear or the Arris and just returned them the next day. So for the record anyone looking into 1Gb service with Altice/Optimum you will be happy to know that this modem works like a charm. Yes, you will be told that it's not a supported device (all that means you will have to do your own support/troubleshooting) being that it's not on their approved device list, but being that it's DOCSIS 3.1 you should have no problem just have them reboot your device after the first hour of service and be sure to use CAT7 and you should be fine. I was looking for a modem that supported Docsis 3.1 and that wasn't a small form factor like the Arris SB8200 so it wouldn't have any overheating issues. At first I was skeptical since I had never used a Motorola/Zoom modem before. After almost a month with no issues, disconnects or slowdowns, I can say that this modem is very reliable! Fully supports my Xfinity Gigabit connection, and even looking at the Connection page when logging into the modem, I see single digits of Correctibles and zero Uncorrectables after a month! Very impressive!

I bought this to replace my Motorola model SB 6121. The data transfer is well over 500 MBS, and integrates seamlessly with Cox services. Installation is a breeze, and all you have to do is contact your cable or Internet provider and have them register the modem. Works EXCELLENT, and I save money by not having to rent a modem from Cox. Good quality, outstanding performance, and a good deal for the money. Highly recommended!

Best one on the market right now. Not super expensive and you'd get every penny's worth at twice the price. Easy to set up. Easy to operate. Works with any router. The MB8600 is simple and effective. Real workhorse. Runs cool and the quality of the Broadcom chipset can't be beat. Nothing fancy, just a fast, stable, reliable internet connection.

First off this modem is small! Second its connects to internet in literally one minute vs my xfinity modem which always took 10minutes fo connect to internet! The speeds have gone from 10mb/s to 80mb/s. Over all im extremly happy i bought it! Saved me from renting any longer at $12 month for a modem. This one is pricey but is darn worth it! Mind you this modem im running a cat7 ethernet cord to my asus ac gt5300 router.

I've been using this modem for over 2 years now (3 months past warranty) and it's worked like a champ. It rarely requires a reset, and pairs great with my Nighthawk router. I didn't do the initial setup myself, but the installer from the cable company said this is one of the easiest models to activate. I see that they are no longer available new, but if you have a chance to get your hands on a refurbished one I would highly recommend.

So far this modem is performing excellently. I have an eero Pro router system to cover my entire house and my old modem was acting flakey and then was diagnosed as failing by my internet service provider. I obtained this modem as a replacement and all is working quite well now.

Installation of my new MB8600 was easier than I thought. After entering some information from the new modem into my Comcast/Xfinity online account and connecting it to my router, it was recognized and connected to my service. Love the illuminated DOCSIS indicator light - green if running 3.0 or blue for 3.1. As you can see from the blue light (second from bottom), I'm running 3.1 - wasn't even sure that was a thing yet.

I had problems with my router dropping signals , wanted to rule out modem and neede docsis 3.1 for gigabit service. Aris modem was not problem, will by new router to take advantage of internet service and modem capabilities. Motorola has been great,! I only replace as technology offers next level internet. Great purchase, look for holiday deals coming out to save

Fantastic! Easy 10 minute setup through xfinity app. On 800Mb plan in South Florida, getting average 900Mb down - 23Mb up. Your coax runs and amount of splitters will have ALOT to do on your connection speed. Ideally your modem is coming right off the home run on a dedicated line.

First off, Motorola is the way to go for cable modems. It's far better than anything the cable company can offer and as friends of mine have attested, they last for years. Can't ask for more than though. Oh yeah, so easy to set up too.

I’ve been using this for a couple years and it is still my favorite modem. Way faster than any cable company gives you. Rated for 1000GB speeds. You’ll get faster download /upload.

Have tried the NetGear CM2000, Arris S33, and this Motorola MB8611. This Motorola hands down is a much better quality and faster modem than the other two I mentioned. Do yourself a favor a purchase this today along with the ASUS GT-AX11000 and boy look out! Better put your seatbelt on my friend!

Motorola modem works great. We needed a faster modem to handle the increased speeds from our Internet Service Provider. We have always owned our modem instead of paying month after month to rent. It has really speeded up our Internet connection.

This modem is BLAZING fast. Easy setup with my provider (Spectrum in Texas) by online chat and giving them the MAC address on the bottom of the router. My speeds can hit over 100mbps MORE than what I pay for. Low ping, great UI built into router. Great signal all over my 1000sqft apartment!

Errors. Critical Errors. Can’t Sync. Dropped Signal. Choppy Gameplay. Over Heating. I have the Geek Squad 4yr replacement plan. I just need to learn how to use it. Because my modem didn't last.

Does what it says on the box. It doesn't look like it was meant to mounted on a wall but if you remove the shiny black foot off the bottom (2 Philips screws) it fits nicely into a "small & wide" wall mount bracket from humancentric. I've only had to restart the modem a couple of times since I purchased it and I think that was really Xfinity's fault not the modem. If you do ever have to power off the modem this one actually has a power button. No need to yank cords like you do with the Arris modems.

Speaking as an xfinity technician with 3 years of experience, this is the fastest, most reliable and durable modem that never overheats and can continue to work even with the lowest signals from the Coax outlet.
