Mouse Rat - The Awesome Album - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

It was the winter after returning from extensive touring behind Mice Parade's 2005 album BEM-VINDA VONTADE, and founder Adam Pierce moved away from the edge of NYC, up to the wooded country near Bear Mountain; he spent the following spring converting an old garage into the latest and best so far in his long line of home studios. The test project for the new studio turned into Mice Parade's first self-titled album and seventh full-length . The new album finds Pierce continuing his trend of stellar collaborators Laetitia Saier chimes in beautifully on InchTales of Las NegrasInch, Kristin Anna Valtysdottir lends her incredible grace to InchDouble Dolphins on the NickelInch; other contributors include touring Mice Parade members Doug Scharin, Dylan Cristy and Jay Israelson.

2016 , the third album from the dream pop outfit. Recorded in Philadelphia with Hop Along's Joe Reinhart, and written through a twelve month period which delivered sudden family illness and a deteriorating relationship, Episodic is fashioned from ten feverish bouts of guitar-pop; led by Rachel Browne's fearsome and fearless vocal and informed by an instrumental backing that underpins the entire record with a vibrant concoction of guitar, drums and keys. Field Mouse began in 2010 with the of their first full-length album titled You Are Here. In early 2013, Field Mouse self-released an EP titled Tour EP. In April 2014, Field Mouse announced they had signed to Topshelf Records, with plans to a full-length in the future. Three months later, Field Mouse released their second full-length album titled Hold Still Life.

Meaning is the third full length album by the Brooklyn- and Philly-based indie rock group Field Mouse. While listeners have previously described Field Mouse's sound as something akin to a shoegazey dream pop, Meaning marks a decided turn to less obscured realms, perhaps more simply described by terms such as rock and roll or pop. In that vein, lead single InchHeart of GoldInch boasts all the makings of a quintessential guitar-pop hit, opening the record with determined bombast and urgency. It features guitarist and lead singer Rachel Browne's diaphanous vocals mirrored by feverish yet nimble guitar hooks, creating an organic, deftly layered rock composition. The album's other two singles, InchIn BlueInch and InchBlack Hole, SonInch indulge yet further in the band's pop proclivities, honed tirelessly over their 10 year-long existence. Their earwormy hooks and pristine production combine for raucous, undeniably vibrant pop honesty, occasionally contrasted with a distinct explosiveness. Overall, Field Mouse's Meaning is a forceful accomplishment of pop-rock songwriting, replete with infectious harmonies and it's own unique voice.01. Meaning02. Heart of Gold03. In Blue04.
