About this product
2020 . Mt. Joy's star rose quickly from a bedroom project to a well-oiled machine dubbed Inchyour new folk-rock heroesInch by Rolling Stone upon the 2018 of their self-titled debut record. That same year and beyond, millions of streams piled up month after month, and sold-out crowds sang along to every song and grew in number with every tour and festival stop they made. 2020 holds no fewer big moments on the road for the band, who are starting out the year touring arenas with The Lumineers, and following it up with a substantial headlining run of their own, including stops at Lollapalooza, Hangout Festival, and Bonnaroo, and two nights at Red Rocks. Their highly anticipated sophomore album Rearrange Us is sonically rich and expansive; producer Tucker Martine's Portland studio and creative input widens the capabilities of Mt. Joy's already bright sound, and allows the growing sophistication of the songwriting and the arrangements to really shine. The self-reflective record shows the band knows where they came from and what they're up against, and that together they have the strength to carry on. Album Tracks 1. Bug Eyes 2. Rearrange Us 3. Have Faith 4. My Vibe 5. Let Loose 6. Every Holiday 7. Come with Me 8. Death 9. Acrobats 10. Witness 11. Us 12. Become 13. Strangers

Steeped in folk-rock tradition and powered by the intuitive creative connection between Matt Quinn (vocals, guitar) and Sam Cooper (guitar), the songs on Mt. Joy's eponymous debut depict the former wrestling with his own conscience, where the mundane and the fantastic collide as he processes tragedy, society, and love. Opener InchI'm Your WreckInch describes Inchmonsters in (the) closet, using up the wi-fiInch as it cycles from it's desperate, spiraling verses to it's swinging, stubbornly optimistic coda, while the loping, plaintive chords of InchYounger DaysInch meditate on a frayed psyche and the fear of choosing the wrong path. InchSheep,Inch with it's collapsing, hoarse-voiced cry of Inchfreedom was paid in blood,Inch is a post-Trump salvo on the responsibilities of the fortunate to overcome political and social despondency. InchAstrovanInch is a warm, yearning bit of road-trip philosophy that posits the existence of a Deadhead Jesus cruising the dusty highways of the countryside. And on InchSilver Lining,Inch perhaps the album's brightest moment, Quinn surveys the damage of hard drugs and the vicious cycle of addiction, as the song's melancholic sentiment kicks into it's fervid, defiant chorus, all shout-along vocals and trilling guitars. Album Tracks 1. I'm Your Wreck 2. Dirty Love 3. Silver Lining 4. Bigfoot 5. Sheep 6. Julia 7. MT. Joy 8. Astrovan 9. Cardinal 10. Jenny Jenkins 11. Sado 12. St. George 13. Younger Days

More Faithful is No Joy's third full-length for Mexican Summer, and bears the fruits of a band that redefined it's work ethic in the gulf of time between recording sessions. The outcome - the juxtaposition of unrest and calm, beauty and chaos, truth and fantasy, in the throes of dimed amps and hair-whipping guitar goddess rock music - is as unwavering as ever. But where Wait To Pleasure balanced textural differences with the freewheeling novelty of the studio environment, More Faithful documents a much more rigorous creative process and performance, one in which the group, recording in NYC and Costa Rica, pushed themselves to new peaks of intensity.
