Wow this Netgear Orbi Modem and Wifi Router combo is a day and night difference when compared to my 5-yr-old Netgear modem/wifi. I tried connecting the Orbi myself but unable to. I thought after speaking with my cable provider as was required in setting up this unit, everything would be fine. Instead, I was unable to get internet from my ISP. The phone rep said they will have to send someone to check my cable outlet and connections. Luckily, someone was able to come to my house to fix it on the same day. The electrician said he needed to tune up everything because apparently it has been more than 6 yrs since our home cable source has been checked and fine tuned. After an hour or so, the ORBI unit was sending full signal to all the wifi electronics in our house. Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a full blast WiFi signal in our home or maybe not ever! It has only been a month since its installation and I’ve noticed that it always have a full blast signal. However, I’ve also noticed that as I move further from the router (which is immediately outside our house), the signal decreases. In summary, I am glad I got this ORBI despite of its tremendously expensive price. I actually got this last December when it was on sale at Best Buy, and I am glad I did because after the New Year its price has increased. Plus, back then, Best Buy was offering a coupon discout if I recycle an old wifi unit. Which I did so I got a really good discount!! All in all, I highly recommend this ORBI and think that it would be a great investment for anyone who wants a reliable wifi unit. I only hope that it will work up to 5 years or more like my old wifi unit did.

This router supports all your home devices. You do not need to set up any 2gzh or 5gzh band separately. Router did decided the device compatibility and connected to respective gzh. The range of this router is excellent. Also if you need more you could connect satellite to extend. Best Investment for a modem router

This thing is like lightning!!! Not one problem since I bought it! Saved myself $12 a month on lease equipment too !

I bought this router with two satellites six months ago. Setup was relatively easy, and the network performed better than I anticipated. That all changed recently when I had to unplug the router briefly to make room for another device on my UPS. When the router rebooted, several devices on my network were blocked from accessing the Internet. I tried using the Orbi Android app and the web interface to enable access for these devices using the Access Control feature. Neither interface would unblock access to those devices. I finally had to resort to disabling Access Control altogether. However, this proved to be only a temporary fix. Access Control re-enables itself at random and blocks devices from accessing the Internet! This problem is incredibly frustrating. I haven't been able to find a permanent solution. Netgear only provides tech support for the first three months after purchase, so I'm completely on my own. I'm of a mind to smash this hunk of junk and go with a different brand.
