Alien where never seems to disappoint this is one of my best computers I've ever owned. Definitely need to have a little Tech savvy. But it does what you need when it comes to gaming!

Really great, although pricey, gaming laptop. Powerhouse that can handle games such as Cyberpunk 2077 with no lag whatsoever. Pros: * RTX 2070 thay can handle a lot of the later games, even though there are newer graphics cards out there * Excellent cooling modes that prevent overheating, and not too loud [depending on setting of cooling mode] Cons: * pretty heavy and needs a backpack to carry safely. Negates the benefit of having a portable gaming setup * needs two chargers at the same time to really beenfit from it’s power * Very expensive, more so than a desktop setup. Best to get on sale or discounted. TL;DR: Very pricey and heavy laptop. But if you have the money [or can wait for a sale] definitely worth it

Great laptop compared to BGA laptops. You have some small ability to upgrade. The RAM, storage is degradable. Your only upgrade path for other components will more than likely be i9-10900k and 2080 super. AW kinda stuck it to the original area 51m r1 owners. They cant upgrade the GPU to the new super or cpu's as it needs a new motherboard. Also you better be careful with the ram you get. Dell has made it very difficult to buy 2933 or 3200 ram and it work unless you buy THEIR specific ram. Otherwise it runs as much lower speeds. Overall if ti a great notebook and glad to see they address the white color turning yellow form the original r1. They put a clear coat on this one. Gaming is great although it does throttle a good bit with sustained CPU and GPU load. This is not a laptop for people don't like to tinker, The Alienware command center software constantly breaks. You have to uninstall and go through a cleanup process then reinstall every time a new version comes out. A few other software glitches that mainly happen when Microsoft/Dell force driver and software upgrades through windows update and the dell software updater program.

I wanted to buy an Alienware Area 51m R2 and was happily surprised to find them available through Best Buy. I would have preferred the RTX 2080 card but for the price, not to mention you can get one in a matter of days (Dell will have you waiting weeks), this has been a fantastic buy. Runs work and gaming apps with ease and was easy to connect to my Valve Index. Highly recommend.

I purchased the Alienware Area 51M R2 laptop (1 TB SSD) for research (not gaming) and have found that it can process data with lightning speed compared to my other Intel core I7 processor laptop. I appreciate the larger 17" screen since looking at data can be tough on the eyes over a long period. All the software and my programs I had used migrated successfully and easily to the Alienware (thankfully). This is an amazing machine and well worth the cost and (heavier) weight for my needs - though the (two) chargers weigh almost as much as the laptop.

Its a great laptop and works perfect for mutti softwarre tasked jobs. For example Navis works, 3ds max and couple other rendering softwares used for buiding and modelling.

Came as described. Beast of a Laptop. Bought it with a laptop fan cooler and along with the fans it has: the system hasn’t heated up as of now.

Great little powerhouse. Doesn't seem to overheat when gaming and no glitching during use. Overall great computer.

Really liked the laptop, plays exactly how I'd want it. I have had some issues updating some of the Alienware specific software at times, but otherwise it's a great machine.

Bought this gaming laptop online for my fiancé & the screen started to glitch. I took it back to Best Buy because we didn’t have the laptop for a week before it started acting up. When we received the laptop in the mail there was a rip in the corner of the box. Luckily the manager exchanged that original laptop for a new one which we will pick up in store.
