If you want a small camera to travel and ot carrying a lot of weight this is perfect! For the prize, you get awesome photo and video quality. I'd recommend buying the 50mm f1.8 lens with this camera, so you will have different picture styles.

This camera and is beautiful inside and out. So glad I decided to purchase the white. I get soo many compliments on it and people ask so many questions. Quality photos wise is amazing. Still trying to figure out a lot of the features since it’s so many but it’s so helpful with the beginner mode menus.

I recently picked up photography and wanted something that would be a good camera for a beginner. This is perfect for a beginner and it takes great photos. Only con I have about this camera is that the flash sometimes gets stuck otherwise no other issues.

I purchased this online this morning with in store pick up selected as “shipping.” I got a text and email before the store opened that it was ready to be picked up. I went to the store a few hours later and they gave me a used model. The camera is great! It was clearly not cleaned, someone else had set their iPhone up on it and there was an imprint on the bottom from where someone screwed in a tripod too tight. These aren’t deal breakers, but I definitely paid for a brand new model and that’s what I should have gotten.

The Canon SL2 is the perfect DSLR for those looking for a powerful camera that doesn’t compromise anything. That being said, it doesn’t master anything either. This SL2 is always talked about as a “entry” DSLR, however, this couldn’t be further from the truth. For a professional this camera can be an essential tool in areas where being discrete, and carrying heavy equipment is inconvenient to the user. The small size ensures that you can focus on your work, while no one else disturbs you. The WiFi that is integrated makes this camera a dream for those active in social media. However; the inability to transfer RAW files over WIFI is a inconvenience as the app automatically converts the image to a JPEG. Third party apps however circumvent that issue. Overall the SL2 is a great camera that has found its home in the Canon ecosystem.

This camera is just amazing! I'm fairly new to photography and didn't know how to use it at first but after having it for around a month now, I have gotten the hang of it. I did do a little research online about what all the different modes do, the manual included with the camera was also very helpful. The UI on the camera also had tips and pointers for what everything does making it great for me as a beginner. It really takes the best pictures out of any camera that I have owned. I can cast pictures and video up to my 65" TV and they look amazing still. I love the small form factor compared to other DSLRs and it super lightweight. I often use a tripod to snap photos of myself and my husband with the Canon App. The app is really cool, you can even see what the camera sees right from the screen on your phone. The software you can download online for PC or Mac is also very helpful for editing and organizing your photos. Wonderful buy. I'm so glad I bought it.

This is the best little camera, lightweight, easy to use and to make it even better it utilizes Canon lenses. From outdoor pics to indoor video and more, built in effects with more features than a pro could want in a small package. I have great close-ups and a really good moon shot as well, if I can take pictures this good and this easy anyone can.

I purchased this camera, and fell in love with it right away. It was easy to set up and charge. The touch screen was easy to use. I went on line for a tutorial on how to use it and was great. Using live view makes it easy to see how the picture will come out. If you are a beginner it has great presets that make pictures great. If you use manual mode i would use the live view to see how the picture will look. It is a great beginning camera and great for the experienced photographer.

I'm going to make this little review short and sweet. The camera is classic Rebel all the way, feels perfect in the hand (try it out at a store for yourself first) and performs like a pro camera in image quality. No weather sealing or super fast burst rates here, just an amazingly low price, and the same exact sensor from the big boy cameras. Save your wallet and go on an extra trip and get this Canon now! Shoot RAW and be amazed at the dynamic range of this sensor! P.S. Although I usually toss the kit lens into a box / drawer and forget about it, I tried out the new Canon 18-55 F4-5.6 STM and it is actually a strong performer! I was giddy with joy about this! I took it for a photo walk and the results actually inspired me to use this little zoom lens more! Great starter lens!

If you are thinking of getting the t6 rebel, dont. Spend a little more and get this one. Faster focusing speed, higher ISO for low light situations, cool flippy screen for selfies, 60fp 1080p video mode (t6 does 30fps). Sleightly less battery life but totally worth it in image quality. Also shutter speed is faster, can snap like 10 pics in a second. Shutter is also super duper quiet. Tons of settings. Fits all my old lenses.

I bought the Canon Rebel SL2 as an upgrade to my much loved Canon SL1, on which I learned to use a DSLR camera. I'd only had my SL1 for just under 1.5 years, and although I loved it a lot (still do), I yearned for a reasonably-priced small DSLR (preferably Canon, for reputation and ease of use and also since I have several Canon lenses) that had more desirable features such as a flip screen and bluetooth, so I was understandably thrilled to discover that the SL2 was already on the market--and, being late Fall, was just waiting for it to go on sale, which it did over Thanksgiving weekend while I was visiting my daughter in northern Washington! This camera is absolutely WONDERFUL! Not only does it take even better photos than my SL1 (which also did a great job)-my SL2 has already won accolades from friends who said the photos I took at a staff dinner, a baptism, and a wedding were the very best pictures of all those that were taken at those events! While both the Canon SL1 and SL2 are small DSLR's and considered beginners cameras, many of the photos I've taken with them have won praises from professional photographers--and one photo even won First Place in a local photography contest! Now, having more megapixels (24 vs. 18), bluetooth and an articulated flip screen, I have already taken some great photos--and can't wait for the next photography contest to come along!
