Picture quality =great. Crisp and clear on regular tv as well as 4K. Good sound..had to add a center channel to hear well. Great color. Love the voice search feature. Easy to use once you take a moment to look at the remote. It makes sense which is good.

I think this TV is great. The picture and quality along with the color is so crisp and clear!! Wonderful investment in a Sony product! I included a photo of someone on the television to see just how great the picture is.

I have had my Sony XBR-55X850D 4K smart tv for about a month. So far I'm very pleased with this television it does everything you need a UHD T.V. to do well. It has very deep blacks and it is very bright over all color spectrum's and is very accurate with color reproduction. This means you get a great picture no matter what resolution you watch this tv in. Overall I give it 4 stars that's because I hate the big bulky box at the end of the power cord this was a big mistake on Sony's part because most of us consumers will want to wall mount a 55" tv like I have done. That bulky box just sitting on top of the fireplace mantle is annoying but I'm living with it if you can to this is still a sweet UHD tv I can't really find anything else wrong with it it's nice as heck.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing my TV and after comparing final details and prices with my BB sales person bought the 55" Sony. I purchased Sony soundbar, PlayStation new router and universal remote and the Geek Squad came out and totally mounted on my wall, including wiring in the wall so no ugly cords hanging, programmed and networked everything and spent time teaching me how to use it all. I'm completely happy with the picture and the whole system! Simple enough for a nontechnical person like me, who still wants great sound and versatility between TV, games, DVR, DVDs and music. Now I can watch the ID channel in every creepy detail Special thanks to my BB sales team and GEEKS :)

I bought this TV during Black Friday weekend sale. I read the negative reviews about this 4k tv and figured maybe it's just a few people being picky. When I got it, I was amazed at how good 4k looks. I love how the colors pop, the details etc..Even regular tv looks good...and then night came! Light bleed is awful!! If you watch anything that has dark scenes or letter bars, the light bleed will be very distracting. My Sony Bravia KDL-EX500 has no light bleed, does way better with reproducing black. I am disappointed with Sony on this one. I might be taking it back for a Samsung.

Sony has made a TV with great picture and a clean bezel. Blu-ray movies look great. Haven't tried 4k yet. Very pleased with our purchase. Integrates well with Sony Blu-Ray player and with your wi-fi connection. Stream movies from your computer easily. Chromecast is integrated into this TV. Channel Guide is more comprehensive than your cable providers guide. It includes Cast/Crew, Ratings and Related Content for each show. There are a few cons. -The external power supply is hard to wall mount and keep hidden. It also comes with a very short power cable. -The IR remote requires external "eyeball" type sensors to be mounted somewhere. Also not easy to hide while still giving a clean appearance. The (2) sensors come with sticky backing to attach somewhere, and have fallen off numerous times. -The tv channel guide integrated within the remote doesn't page up/page down and does not automatically go to the channel you are currently on. Besides those things, if you are looking for a TV with great picture and reasonable price this is a good option.

This is an amazing tv, the picture quality is beautiful. However within the first week of purchase we noticed the remote control stopped working. I called Sony's customer service line and after 30 minutes on the phone troubleshooting we had the problem resolved. So I thought. The tv worked for a couple of days and then randomly out of the blue it let out an ear piercing screech (that's the best way I can describe the sound) the screen turned a scratchy green color for approximately 20 seconds and then it died. It attempted to reboot on its own but would not fully load unless we unplugged the power source and rebooted that way. After this happened I called customer service back only to be told they would have to call me back. That call never came. So the holidays came and went and we were busy so I figured I would call after. The tv kept doing this same quit/restart at least a dozen times. I finally called again, and after over an hour this time explaining my issue they transferred me to the warranty dept. I was required to submit pictures of the tv, which I did, but it's hard to see the issue when all the picture showed was a dead tv. They denied my claim. So I waited.... I left my phone open on the camera app and sat for two hours waiting until it finally did it again. This time I was ready. I took a video of the tv "dying" as I call it. This finally was enough to satisfy Sony to send me a replacement, which I'm satisfied with so long as this new one works properly. We shall see.

For a little more money, the Sony picture is better than Samsung or Visio. Blacks are blacker like the old plasma TVs. Clarity is exceptional. The set up was terrific. My only complaint: the TV stand is impossible to put together. Just don't try and call the 800 number. The instructions are drawings only. There is no narrative. "Step one- do this." Gee, the only reason to leave that off is because there are so many languages to cover. Directions for TV stand get a failing grade. TV is an Aplus.

I have been wanting to replace my existing 2007 47" 1080p Vizio for some time now and have been researching a replacement that met my current requirements. Primary goal being, a family room HDTV that had excellent side viewing angles due to our unique room situation shared with an overlooking kitchen area. This requires an IPS panel that will have lower contrast numbers but will maintain color accuracy viewing from different angles. This Sony had one of the highest IPS panel contrast ratings. Used "rtings.com" as the primary information site for comparing numerous makes and models. And if I had a home theater room, then I would have selected a model that had a VA panel with much higher contrast ratios but extremely limited side viewing angles. Regardless, it would have been a Sony. The price point for this HDTV was more than some and less than others but it was the reviews from this site, and many others, that changed my mind from an LG or Samsung, to the Sony. Couldn't be happier! Didn't think I would use the online internet surfing feature, but found I do enjoy surfing with the MIC feature. The one downside to this HDTV, is the low quality speakers. But I knew that going before buying and will supplement with a high end sound bar, sound base, or 5.2 receiver (still researching those). Caught this on sale and saved another $100 and used the BB free deliver service. Will add that the BB delivery team of 2 plus a supervisor were prompt, professional, and keep me updated on the delivery schedule. Got to love that!

The Sony X850D is a good 4k LED TV for a living room. Its picture quality in a darker room isn't as good as last year's model, the X850C, but it boasts a better viewing angle and somewhat improved HDR capability. Because it doesn't have much blur, sports and video game fans will enjoy the Sony X850D Picture Quality Because of its low contrast, the Sony X850D won't look its best when playing dark scenes in a dark room. As soon as you have some lights on, though, the X850D looks sharp, with decent color. It will play movies smoothly, without judder, from any source. HDR has seen a small improvement over last year, but without a local dimming feature, the X850D still won't be the best option for HDR. Motion Sports fans are going to be pleased with the Sony X850D. It has very little blur, so players running at full speed, or cars quickly passing by, will remain well defined. Camera panning shots over playing fields won't reveal any obvious screen problems, either. Smart Features Not much has changed from Sony's Android TV smart platform from last year, which isn't such a bad thing, though some improvements would have been nice. It still feels like Sony uses a bunch of different interfaces thrown together into one. The content and apps are there, though, and that is what really matters. The interface is faster, too. As for the TV's inputs, you probably won't need more. Just make sure you have enough space in your setup to hide the huge power brick. Compared to other TVs, the Sony X850D is a good choice for wide living rooms with seating on the side of the TV. If the main viewing position is directly in front of the TV, there are better alternatives.

Unlike another top tv I returned to Best Buy. The Samsung suhd 55 curved tv is amazing in picture depth (compared to all other flat panel tv), the dynamic setting is awesome for football. The remote and whole system is very intuitive and simple buttons. Very happy with tv.

I recently upgraded to this 850d from the 850c. The change in quality from last years model is huge! You really feel like you're there at the filming locations when you are streaming 4K movies!! Awesome purchase!

After comparing several brands I settled on this Sony model. It has a great picture, and other features that are attractive including cast from iphone or computer.

Sony rep helped me pick out tv. Picture is great. Needed adjustment in control center. The Sound could be better...which is why they sell sound bars. I did not purchase due to cost....but might in future.

Awesome rich colors and TV. It's true as the black colors are a little pixelated but not a big deal to me.

I like this tv because the picture is clear up close and from across the room. The size is perfect for smaller rooms.

Even though this tv looks amazing when watching movies and TV shows at 1080p or 4K, I wanted something more. This tv has such a fast refresh rate that makes it amazing when playing first person shooters. When connecting it to my Xbox OneS, the HDR setting kicks in and makes the games stand out even more. With this tv I don't have to think about upgrading it anytime soon, it's fully capable of handling whatever the Xbox Scorpio is going to bring.
