I was looking for a TV for a small bedroom for under $ 400. This 40 inch Sony 650D has been an excellent buy. Easy set up and really needed no extra adjustments. The color on this Sony is wonderful, bright and clear. Action is clean. I continue to enjoy shopping at Best Buy because of the variety of products that are carried there. Thank you,

Size matters in the bedroom with TVs. Having a 42 inch finally go out it was a hunt to find one close to the size in a model I would trust. Thanks to the tremendous staff who narrowed my needs and wants to this beautiful set a smart TV with the most beautiful picture I've had in any set. What I lost was 1 HDMI I used to have 3 but no biggie and a flexible timer to 180 minutes. If this picture does not say it all I don't know what words would describe the great product Sony is!

The TV is pretty awesome. I bought it to use as a Screen for my home studio and definitely did a great purchase..

This tv has met all of my expectations. It is the perfect fit for the room. It works well with my Sony sound bar system as well.

The sound goes out at least 2 to 4 times a day bringing the TV back to exchange it at Best Buy this weekend, The color and picture is wonderful. We thought it was the new cable box the cable people came back and fixed the box problem but the sound keeps going out and we believe the store gave us a floor model because when we opened the box it had a yellow floor ticket taped to it. I'm upset about that, the store should have told us it was a Display model we wouldn't have purchased it. We thought we were getting a brand new TV that had never been used. But we were wrong.

Nice TV from Sony. Simple and easy to install and connect.

We had no time to "compare shop" since our LG TV had died and my sister was looking for an immediate replacement. We were a bit put off that Best Buy wasn't going to deliver it for a week so we had to opt to take it home ourselves and fix it up. Big let down as I'm in a wheelchair and my sis has major arthritis but we were able to do it. We know the Sony name and trust it, and we weren't looking for anything fancy or "special" since we just needed something 42" or less to fit in the TV cabinet The picture is pretty good and the setup was relatively easy. Connecting the Bose, the DVD and the DVR was all pretty easy as well. i think it was well worth the $$ we spent on it.

I got this TV after reading many reviews of it, and other manufacturer's TVs in similar size/price range. Within minutes of opening the box, the base was installed and my receiver/consoles, etc. were plugged in and working. Depending on how many options you choose during the initial setup, the initial setup can proceed very quickly. Going back into the setup menu to change settings which you skip initially is hassle-free. Video: Looks great for PS4 games, Netflix, and YouTube videos (via PS4). Also, very easy plug and play with Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and accompanying docking station, with no visual distortion in either "Duplicate Display" or "Extend Display" mode. Only caveat is the differing resolutions between the SONY (1980x1080p) and SurfacePro3 screen (2160x1440). On the other hand, this TV handles it more than adequately enough, and therefore I couldn't justify the price jump to a 4K tv. Audio: Currently use the stand as a desktop TV, and the sound is good enough for TV viewing. I usually have the audio going through my receiver (very easy HDMI input setup). SmartTV apps: As I use the PS4 for most video/audio streaming, I haven't explored too many of the built in apps. I will say though that the WIFI setup was simple, and strong enough to use YouTube/Netflix/etc with no problems. Overall: Very pleased with brightness/contrast in video games, and with the general ease of setup. Rated at 4 starts instead of 5 because I have yet to fully utilize the TVs built-in SMART apps, and thus don't know how they compare to other models'. I am much happier with this LED than with my previous plasma flat screen. It's lighter, thinner, cooler, and has a better picture (other than the really dark black colors, which the plasma was superior in).

This TV has a very clear picture, easy to mount on the wall, and has a great tuner, which is important for over the air stations, which we use exclusively (no cable or Satellite). On screen menus are large enough to read at a comfortable distance, and the included remote has all the functions that are needed. No need to download an app to your phone to use it, like a Vizio I just tried before this one. I'd buy it again!

I was looking to replace an older and smaller flatpanel TV with a SMART TV. I liked the Sony's picture appearance over the other major competitors so I bought it. This review is actually written after I bought a second one. Both units were easy to setup and I encountered no problems with either one. My only knock, which may have to do with my home wifi network, is that about 10% of the time I can't stream video to the units from my Android devices. Again, TV or network? Since they both do it, maybe it's the network. Picture and sound wise, I love them both.

Bought this TV to replace a 10 year old Philllips TV in our master bedroom. I chose this as a less expensive alternative to the same size Sony 4K HDR. Set up is easy and picture quality is nearly as good as the 55 inch Sony 4K HDR in my living room. Sound quality from the front mounted speakers is very good. Easy programming for use with my DirecTV universal remote. I recommend this TV highly.

Sony makes the best TV's on the market. Sony TV's have that it factor that others do not. They develop, research, engineer, design, & just plain make the standard bar that all others attempt to mimic. Lower prices for other's, bright pictures, smart TV's, all copied from Sony. By the best or just get a TV? SONY.

I bought the 40" Samsung smart tv, first. It was terrible. It was always stopping Seinfeld right in the middle of the stream. You know the one where George is a Marine Biologist, and he has to walk out and...anyway, the tv kept ruining my chill sessions. I thought it was my Internet connection. It was not. Finally, I was fed up and took the Samsung tv back to Best Buy and told them that it was a piece of junk. To my surprise, the sales associate said "you're right". He said that Samsung makes great tvs over 50" and under 32". I said "reeeeeeeeaaaaalllllyyy?". He said "yep", and walked me over to this 40" tv equivalent of Margot Robbie and said "this is what you want". I quickly took my new Sony to the customer service desk and made the exchange. It took 4 minutes and 28 seconds. Impressive. Now, I'm not a 'specs guy', so if you want to hear someone's thoughts on megawatts, megapixels & mega...mega...megawatts, go somewhere else. However, if you want to hear someone say that this tv is perfect for an average sized room and doesn't cut off your favorite reruns and looks pretty cool, too? Then, this tv is perfect for an average sized room, and doesn't cut off your favorite reruns and looks pretty cool, too.

I have always had great luck with Sony Televisions and accessories. This television is no different. This unit was purchased to replace another Sony that was 10+ years old. I am happy with the picture quality and smart TV apps. Great product for a fair price.

I am very happy about this purchase. I bought this Sony tv for my master bedroom. I like the quality, sound, design and price- I purchased when it was on sale- very easy to assemble the only issue I had was the factory setting was not great so I had to do some adjustments. Love my second Sony tv and Best Buy store.

Went into the store to kill some time and ended up buying this TV. After being shown several by the sales person we decided to purchase this model because the picture quality looked a lot better than the competitors. After getting it home and set up it has been very easy to work with. Changes input with ease and you can set up shortcuts to your inputs and the TV is smart enough to name what the device you are plugged into. After turning on my Apple TV and Xbox One it shows those names as boxes and color codes them. Highly recommend this TV.

The Sony KDL-40W650D is quite an impressive TV. It is also a "smart TV" And it is well designed unit with great capabilities and a strong RF front end. Pulls broadcast signals very well with minimal antenna input. The user interface is a little complicated, but if you read the accompanying manual it will quickly become clear. The Wifi connectivity is also very good and I can access Netflix and Hulu easily with excellent picture and sound quality. If you're looking for a good 40 inch 1080p TV you can't go wrong with this model. It is pricier than a comparable Samsung, but will probably perform better in the long run.

This TV was easy to install and set up. I did it all by myself and I am 72. The picture is bright and clear, the 39 inch screen fits perfectly in the space I have. The 'Smart' technology works easily.
