Well, for starters, as the headline says, this product arrived exactly on time for me that was determined when I made the purchase. It was wrapped great and no damage to the package. Anyway, I ordered a couple of these to be installed in a couple of HP laptops, a Lenovo Laptop and decade old HP Desktop. Installed Windows 10/11 on these drives, The OS and software loads and closes tons faster and I no longer have to see the previous HDD endlessly tapping 100% for minutes at a time sometimes. Everything is just flat out more smooth. I currently have a couple of Crucial SSD's I have installed in my own personal PC's for the past 5 years or so and they still hold up well and perform like I just purchased them yesterday to this day. That is how I feel about this drive currently.

Excellent price point and performance. I have installed 25 of these so far in company laptops. Endurance is comparable to more expensive competitors. The biggest ease is that Crucial provides the cloning software that is easy to use during the upgrade. Some competitors do not provide that software so research that before purchase if you need it. Crucial also comes with a spacer if the bay is made for a thicker drive or use of shock absorbers. I have not found a competitor that includes that.

This may not be the fastest SSD around but it sure saved the life of my 10 year old laptop. My original HDD had numerous bad sectors and the laptop was barely functioning. I did not want to purchase another laptop and I really wanted to keep the Windows 10 settings I had researched over the years, along with all the apps I already had installed. The free software that came with the SSD (Acronis) could not handle cloning a drive with bad sectors. I found AOMEI Backupper that I had to purchase. The system clone worked. I've been up and running since. I was so happy I purchased a second SSD to keep as a backup.

Great affordable SSD that comes with free cloning software that you can download from their website. Software would not work/activate/recognize hard drive at first, but luckily the question I posted on Bestbuy's site was answered by support and the fix they recommended worked. Old laptop is now performing much better and is usable again for at least a couple of years...

Performance is great, easy to install on a desktop, a huge improvement on computer startup.

Used to upgrade my Mid-2012 MacBook Pro. Followed some YouTube videos and decided to do a clean install. It worked flawlessly! I opted for the Crucial because it had a good price point and I knew that although it wouldn't be the fastest, it would be a big improvement regardless. I also opted to use Crucial to upgrade the RAM. With the combination, my MacBook is faster than it has ever been. Used to take about a minute to start up, now takes about 10 seconds! Well worth it! Do it!

This SSD cuts bootup time by more than half and allows programs to open much faster than my old HDD. No problems and it was easy to install, just follow instructions!

This SSD hard drive has really improved the performance of my computer, I should have made this upgrade earlier. The Geek Squad tech made this recommendation and installed quickly. The price was right and it's a quality brand. If you don't have a SSD, get one, saved me the price of new computer.

Awesome, Amazing, Woohoo! I am blazing fast now. I can hardly believe what I am about to tell you. This drive actually comes with a copy of Acronis!...for free. I just installed the Crucial drive in an open bay, fired up Acronis, told it to clone my aging hard drive, two hours later I unplugged my old drive, restarted computer and BAM! Boot time went from 4-5 minutes to less than 30 seconds....and system is so quiet now. You got to get one of these!!!!

Thanks to the Geek Squad, I didn't need a new computer, but just more storage....and my computer is working better than new with this little piece of amazing hardware. This is my work computer and I needed the work done quickly....and it was. Thank you!

A little bit of drama with this one. I ordered it on the 1st,it was shipped on the 4th, and it was four days late getting to me being delivered on the 13th rather than the 9th as scheduled. The Crucial box was sealed but damaged in a couple of places so not a new looking box. So we're already off to a rough start. Cloned in 5 minutes from a smaller SSD using the included Acronis software. Drive was to be used as boot drive for an older Toshiba laptop. After the swap, I got the BSOD upon boot! I thought the drive was defective since after a few more attempts wiping, recloning and even trying to do a fresh install of Windows 10, I kept getting the BSOD upon boot. Definitely NOT what you want to see with your new Crucial clone. Long story short, after almost throwing in the towel and getting ready to pack this thing up and head to Best Buy for a refund, I just so happened to notice major issues with the laptop charging system when I reinstalled the previous drive. The battery started having issues charging, and the laptop was acting erratic, shutting down randomly after charging the battery for a few minutes then all of a sudden showing 0% charge on the battery when just a few moments prior it was at 75%. Turns out it was a skunky laptop battery and not the drive. I replaced the battery with an OEM one and reinstalled the MX500. It booted right up and has been fine ever since. Can't go wrong with Crucial. Form and function personified. Right up my alley.

Excellent product. Bought this SSD to replace an existing internal slow (5400 RPM) SATA hard drive. The replacement made a huge difference to the performance of my notebook. The bootup and average normal operations are all much faster and snappier. For the price point, highly recommended.

I upgraded from a WD Blue and performance is superb. Nearly instantly full boot into Windows where my old HDD took nearly 10 minutes. If you plan to image/clone from an existing drive I recommend using Macrium Reflect vs Crucial’s Acronis. My Acronis image wouldn’t boot after multiple attempts but Macrium got it done first try.

I have the Crucial MX500 1TB in my personal desktop and liked the performance and storage. My parent's desktop still had a hard drive but didn't need as much storage so I bought them the 500GB. Like any SSD, it is a huge performance and speed increase over a hard drive. This one was reasonably priced since I got it on sale and had a Best Buy giftcard.

I have ordered this to replace my 10-year-old laptop hard drive. This is my first SSD drive. Crucial cloning software installation and hard drive clone were super easy. Did it in less than 1 hour. My laptop booting is amazingly super fast(<20 sec.), it's been a month since I'm using it, and no issues so far.

This is one of my go to SSD drives. The boot time for windows is amazing. Copying files from one SSD to another is fast. I always forget how fast and SSD is until I have to transfer files to and from a non SSD. You wont be disappointed in this drive.

I replaced the HDD in my 2011 iMac with this SSD. It's now faster than when it was new! But there is an issue when you remove the original HDD that came with your iMac. That HDD comes with an internal temperature sensor which controls the cooling fan speed. Without this temperature sensor the cooling fan will run at full speed, all the time. This is extremely noisy. There are a couple of ways to get around this problem. One way is to short out the wires which connect to the HDD thermal sensor. This will deactivate the cooling fan completely so you will get no cooling of your SSD. These things can get very hot. (This Crucial SSD claims to have "Adaptive Thermal Protection" which is supposed to prevent overheating.) The second way is to get an app which will allow manual control of the cooling fan. But there are a couple of problems with this method. First, you will not know what the temperature of your SSD is so you won't really know how fast your fan should be running. Even if you knew the temperature of your SSD you would still have to constantly monitor it and keep adjusting your fan speed manually. The third and I think best way is to buy an OWC digital thermal sensor which you attach to body of your SSD. It is also the power and data cable. It plugs into the motherboard just like the original sensor on your Apple HDD. These sensors are kind of pricey (close to forty dollars) but well worth it to me, especially when compared to the price of a new computer. Check out the OWC website for instructional videos for replacing the HDD in your iMac with an SSD. You could also install an SSD in your iMac without removing your HDD by putting it behind/under the optical drive. But this will interfere with the airflow which cools the optical drive and the GPU. These old iMacs are known to have overheating problems with their GPUs so I opted to remove the HDD and use that bay for my SSD. You can alway buy an external adapter and continue to use the HDD attached to your iMac with a cable. To me, my old iMac was worth upgrading as its monitor is UHD and its Intel i5 is still good enough for my general computing needs. Besides, now is not a good time to buy a new iMac as the next generation will be a significant upgrade with its M1X chip. Better to wait for that than to buy a soon to be obsolete Intel iMac.
