Solid unit, actually has a WD RED drive inside, I did some research and found this to be true. I found this unit at a really low price of $129.99, I purchased it Black Friday, limited options but I got one, my reasons for buy? Xbox ONE X gaming console, you really do need a large drive if you plan on having any kind of a collection of games to play, and with the UHD 4K updates being so huge in size, this was a must have.

Would've given 5 stars but, if shucking, you may need to modify the power supply to the HDD. If you have a White label inside, which it appears most of these are, some power supplies may need to be modded for the drive to power on. The mod isn't too bad, just remove the orange lead from the plug that powers the drive, see pic below. The good is that it isn't too hard to shuck, white label is same specs as red, was a killer price on BF and mod isn't too difficult.

For those wondering, technically it is a re-badged WD red drive inside. Model WD80EMAZ-00WJTA0. I have heard some issues for those wanting to shuck and run as NAS. Crystalmark gives me a 5400 rpm and 256mb cache. Works great as a stand alone back up. If you want to run NAS you may want to look into the model number and see if it works with your system. Otherwise its a great all around back up. I haven't had any issue with heat, vibration or noise.

Previously I bought a DJI drone and I was looking for some more storage to keep photos and video on. Best Buy had a Christmas sale for half off on this model. Easy setup even with reformatting it for iOS. There is plenty of storage not only for all of my photos and videos as well as music and most importantly backing up my computer. Easy to use and is small for the amount of storage you get with this model.

I stopped using Seagate external HD’s because they were unreliable and would fail within a couple of years right after the warranty expired. I had a couple of WD external hard drives that I bought at the same time and they are still working. I’m a fan of WD now because I am comfortable with storing my valuable information on it without fear I will have to employ a data recovery service (which is quite expensive). Uploading and down loading is super fast with the 3.0 USB connection. I caught it on sale and the price was unbelievable. The only downside is that I bought it for a Apple device and had to format it before using it. Unfortunately I can’t verify the longevity because I’ve had it less than a month. I believe you will enjoy this device.

Another great external HD from Western Digital. I already have 4 other WD external HDs, four 4GB and 1 5GB drive, all from the WD MyBook line, and I believe this easyStore line is basically just a re-branding of the MyBook line. Whatever WD drive they actually put in this case, it works great. I use it to store BD rips which I play through various player software packages, and I never have an issue.

i bought this to combine my old 3 tb drives into one. this thing can hold countless movies. i have at least 600 .ios files(dvd disc images) on this drive already with only a third of the drive full. the price was cheap on black friday at $129 so i thought this was a good price for this drive as welll.

Yes I bought this for the Xbox one x. 4k games means more space needed to store them. Transferred everything from a 4tb drive I had into this. Everything works flawlessly and for the on sale price, I paid less for this than I did for the 4tb model.

This is a fantastic drive for a fantastic price! The enclosed WD Red is a TLER enabled NAS drive great for RAID among other things. 5400(ish) RPM, low heat, low noise, low power, and half of the price of the lone drive, what more can you ask for?

Good size external HD that performs as advertised (so far). It only has a 2 year warranty. Good price/performance ratio

This unit has 8Tb of drive space!!!! It is more than all my other hard drivers all together... This one requires external power and is not the small portable version (I wish there is a small portable 8Tb HD!!!) but no problem for my current use: external drive for my Xbox One S. Working perfectly and no worries for keep installing new games (no need to remove old ones....) It seems fast and it is very silent.

I was planning to use this on my Mac but for some reason I couldn't reformat it using the Mac Disk Utility. It kept failing saying the disk was in use, even after a restart. I had to use the WD utility that came on the disk and reformat to exFAT as HFS+J wouldn't work. After I did the reformat though the disk worked fine and have had no real problems with it.

Can't get much better storage size than this and price was a steal. Works flawlessly it's not loud or anything while in use. Works on my xbox one x, tv and pc all perfectly when needed.

Bought this for Xbox one x and I love it. Never have to worry about running out of space again. Very easy to use just plug it in and format it and your ready to go.

I bought this to upgrade the size of my 4TB My Book for NAS backup. Very happy with the performance and price (bought on Black Friday)

Bought 2 of these for an excellent price on Black Friday as soon as they went live and they arrived in 6 days I believe. Bought these for my NAS and heard reports that this NEBB model did not contain Red label drives but had white label drives instead. Sure enough the reports were true, but just because they don't have the red label doesn't mean they are red drives, these work the same and have the same 265mb cache and are helium filled and can only possibly be red drives. I'd say these were definitely worth the wait.

Great price for a terrific drive. Feels like I’ll never run out of space again!

This is my second WD external hard drive. They are excellent back up devices and now that the capacity has grown, it makes it much easier to store large amounts of photos, music and files. Recommended!

I had been looking for a larger capacity external drive, and found several options at Best Buy during Black Friday. The 4TB drive was $99, but I found this one for $129 at twice the capacity. Hard to beat that deal! Also, the fact that I could purchase it online without having to deal with the Black Friday crowds was a definite bonus. The drive is doing what we need it to do. I haven't had it that long, but have had no issues with it.

Good drive, very quiet. Comes with USB 3.0 cable and power brick. Transfer rates were roughly 100mbps, very decent for an external drive. So far very reliable. Not a single problem transferring over 6TB in just over a day. Would buy again.
