About this product

As the frontman of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Kip Berman wrote songsabout the thrills and ills of young adult life with the care and concern of a coololder sibling. The long-standing New York City indie pop group disbanded soonafter releasing their final record in 2017, and Berman found himself at a creativecrossroads. He wanted to keep making music, but the themes and sounds he wasinterested in had shifted; it felt time for a course correction.Enter Tethers, Berman's first solo record as The Natvral out April 2nd, 2021on Kanine Records. Tethers finds Berman coming to terms with the changesin his own life by observing those transformations in the people he's known - aself-portrait in relief. In the time between making his last record with his formerband, Berman's life and location have shifted dramatically, as he welcomed adaughter, then a son, and moved from Brooklyn to Princeton. With his newidentity as a parent came a crucial shift in how he approached music. Gone werethe months in a cramped tour van and late nights rehearsing with his band in awindowless warehouse space. In it's place were amorphous, suburban afternoonsplaying whimsical songs to two young children, while writing music for himselfafter their bedtime. But in this time away from the life of a touring artist, Berman discovered anunvarnished, broken folk rock sound- a marked departure from his previouswork. Recorded over 7 days with producer Andy Savours (My BloodyValentine, Black Country New Road, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart), Tethersis as raw in sound as it is nuanced and empathetic in it's lyricism. Without effectpedals, overdubs or even a metronome, the resulting album feels free andunpretentious, recalling the strident obliqueness of Bob Dylan and Neil Young'ssonic primitivism - but drawn from a set of vividly detailed experiences allBerman's own.Tethers, in spirit and sound, is a taut

The Sherbs - The Skill - Clear Blue - VINYL LP

Clear Blue. Sherbet (aka Highway or The Sherbs) was one of the most successful Australian rock bands of the 1970s. The 'classic line-up' of Daryl Braithwaite on vocals, Tony Mitchell on bass guitar, Garth Porter on keyboards, Alan Sandow on drums, and Clive Shakespeare on guitar provided their teen-oriented pop style. In 1976 Shakespeare left and was soon replaced by Harvey James. Sherbet's biggest singles were InchSummer LoveInch (1975) and InchHowzatInch (1976), both reaching number one in Australia. InchHowzatInch was also a top 5 hit in the United Kingdom. The band was less successful in the United States, where InchHowzatInch peaked at No. 61. As The Sherbs they also reached No. 61 in 1981 with InchI Have the SkillInch. The group disbanded in 1984. Beirut - A Study of Losses - Blue - VINYL LP

A Study Of Losses is the seventh studio album from Beirut, the musical project of Zach Condon. The project originated in spring 2023, when Viktoria Dalborg, director at the Swedish circus Kompani Giraff, reached out to Condon, asking if he would be interested to provide the music for their next project, a show based on an adaptation of a novel by German author Judith Schalansky. The main themes in Schalansky's book and in the adaptation for the circus show deal with the concept of loss and the impermanence of everything known to us from extinct animal species, lost architectural and literary treasures to more abstract concepts of loss through the process of aging. In close collaboration, A Study Of Losses, turned into a rather unexpected piece of music-at 18 songs and nearly an hour long, it is by far the largest album Beirut has ever done, and amongst some of their most beautiful work to date. Album Tracks 1. Disappearances and Losses 2. Forest Encyclopedia 3. Oceanus Procellarum 4. Villa Sacchetti 5. Mare Crisium 6. Garbo's Face 7. Mare Imbrium 8. Tuanaki Atoll 9. Mare Serinitatis 10. Guericke's Unicorn 11. Mare Humorum 12. Sappho's Poems 13. Ghost Train 14. Caspian Tiger 15. Mani's 7 Books 16. Moon Voyager 17. Mare Nectaris 18. Mare Tranquillitatis
