NEIL FRANCES - It's All A Bit Fuzzy - VINYL LP

Neal Francis - InchIn Plain SightInch Neal Francis' sophomore album offers up a body of work both enchanting and painfully self-aware. Recorded entirely on tape and mixed by GRAMMY-winner Dave Fridmann (Spoon, Tame Impala,) the record spotlights his refined yet free-spirited piano playing, an instrument he took up at age 4. The songs came to life over the course of a tumultuous year spent living in a (possibly) haunted church in Chicago. The result a portrait of profound upheaval and weary resilience. Vinyl LP pressing. Directed by renowned artist JR, Ellis is a lens through which the story of Ellis Island is captured and retold by the words of one immigrant. Starring Robert de Niro and featuring the visually arresting Unframed art installation, which inhabits the abandoned Ellis Island hospital complex, the short film takes you on a compelling journey through the crumbling hallways of what once stood as the gateway to America. Entwined with this unfolding narrative is a score composed by multi-talented Woodkid, performed and co-written by Nils Frahm. Whilst the delicate piano motifs of InchWinter Morning IInch culminate in a crescendo of strings, it's atop the harmonium swells on the B-side that de Niro's narration evokes the presence of those who shaped modern America so clearly. There's perhaps not been a more relevant time for this story and it's themes to be brought to life in such a special way, with all proceeds from this going towards the Sea Watch initiative, a non-profit charity dedicated to the protection and rescue of civilian refugees. Album Tracks 1. Winter Morning I 2. Winter Morning II (With Robert de Niro)

The Los Angeles-based indie-dance duo is comprised of Australian-born Jordan Feller and Southern California native Marc Gilfry. On October 6, 2023, they'll their sophomore studio album, It's All A Bit Fuzzy, which comes packed with new, epic collabs and sets the stage for their riveting live show. Following their 2018 EP, Took A While, and their 2022 debut LP, There Is No NEIL FRANCES, the collab-heavy It's All A Bit Fuzzy LP refines Feller and Gilfry's natural, club-ready groove with sonic influences ranging from '80s/'90s rave culture, '70s funk and soul, yacht rock, and classic hip-hop. Alluding to a dizzy night out, followed by a pleasantly woozy morning after, the album started coming together in earnest when Gilfry and Feller discovered the colorful work of abstract artist Angela Bacher, who created the album and single(s) art. Letting the collaborative process guide them, NEIL FRANCES flexed their curatorial muscles and joined forces with rising talent such as DC-based R&B/dance artist dreamcastmoe, alt-indie singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist St. Panther, and rapper/singer PawPaw Rod, and Chicago duo Drama to create an adventurous, shape-shifting collection.
