Nelson Padron - Original Cuban Masters - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2020, The Year Of Our Pandemic A year of social unrest, police violence and a monumental US election. The year of COVID-19 and it's mounting death toll. A massive explosion and mass death in Lebanon. Political upheaval in Belarus. A spiraling world economy. Global protests. If ever a stage was set for new music from Serj Tankian, this is it. With his trademark eclecticism and one-of-a-kind vocal style, Serj delivers, Elasticity, a five song EP that run the gamut from hard-driving, electronically enhanced anthems like the title track to rallying cries for his beloved Armenia (InchElectric YerevanInch) to the tongue-in-cheek political mash-up of InchYour Mom.Inch Elasticity is comprised of songs originally intended for System Of A Down. But it didn't quite work out that way. The EP will delight fans of System who have waited a long time for new music.

Nelson Padron is probably best known as Gloria Estefan's session drummer and percussionist, or as the animated drummer on the hit TV show Sabado Gigante - but among musicians he is known as one of the best Cuban percussionists in the history of Cuban music and Latin Jazz. This rare 1970's era solo album shows off his Cuban jazz chops and features the amazing Paquito Hechavarria on piano. All selections newly remastered.

One of the great bandleaders and highly influential arrangers from Cuba's golden age in the 1950's - a professor of music in Havana into his 90's - rare late 50's sessions from the famed Sonotone tag
