I bought an Apple TV and an Orbi mesh router (both at Best Buy) and decided that I wanted to run the Apple TV with an ethernet cable. The only problem was that the router only had one ethernet port. I needed an additional port for my home cloud storage device, so I bought this Netgear switch. It was plug-and-play and worked great. There is no slow-down in speed, either. I would recommend it to anyone needing more ethernet connections.

Gigabit, Small, Portable, easy to conciel is exactly what I wanted. I use this to extend and split a direct Cat-6 into my office for 2 computers and an xbox. Highly supportive of Netgear products and I will continue to do so. Very well built. non-managed, just plug and play and it works!

It's a 5 port name brand gigabit switch for fair price. Other switches are more expensive which doesn't seem worth it. Connected speed shows gigabit and connection tested good so far (about 2 weeks). The color is white but I prefer black or silver, but it's out of sight behind some things on the desk so not a big deal. It's replacing a 100Mb D-Link switch that went bad after a year or two (not a long time!) in service (and which I got for around the same price as this netgear one). So I will see how the more popular name brand does against it.

Needed another switch, this SOHO (small office home office) unmanaged switch is awesome. No setup, just plug n play. very small, tiny, takes up no space, easily mountable to any surface (with velcro). This 5 port switch also has a very low power consumption as well. Perfect to add to or expand an existing network.

Don’t hesitate! If you need a switch, just get this one. Your wallet will love you. This thing is fast!! My roommate and I game on this at the same time on our desktops, and never notice any sort of lag or performance drop. Great product.

I use it for connecting to additional devices in another room at home. It is smaller than I expect which means it only takes a tiny space on my desk. It works right away out of the box, no brainer and the price is very good when it is on sale with $5 off at Best Buy.

At the recommendation of two Information Technology professionals (and friends) who have made site visits to my home - this was enough "switch" for my intended use - simply to add Ethernet connections and distribute internet service in a room with only one Ethernet port. Simple to install and hide small unit and now enjoying fast and reliable connection to Sony Smart TV, TiVo , TiVo Stream and Sonos speaker - all offer wifi, but wired is best.

This switch helped solve my living room Ethernet woes. Small footprint with excellent performance. We are not power users, mind you. We have light use (minimal backhaul), as it connects our PS4, Denon receiver, and Arlo SmartHub to the in-wall network connecting to another from where modem and router are, while using a mesh network for WiFi. My experience cannot speak for more robust home networks. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought this little baby after deciding to buy a cable modem, eliminating the monthly rental fee from the cable company. This thing is awesome if you only need 5 port like I do. It's really small and can be easily hidden. The only thing that does stink is it is white and there are no other color choices, however the ease of hooking it up and hiding it got rid of the color issue. Must buy!

For a basic 5 port switch, works as expected. Speeds are as advertised and it’s going year plus no issues.

Works great for me. Have 3 computers attached to it along with a link to the router. No problems getting into any system.

Plugged it in; plugged in some devices; and everything worked with zero hassle. I used it to split a digital TV signal from the internet signal. I sent the internet signal to my router and the TV signal to the TV and everything works great.

I connected this switch to one of the internet ports on my ISP router so I could connect a network HP LaserJet printer and NAS on the other side of the room. Once everything was connected, they worked perfectly without any need for special setups. My ISP provides up to 100 mbps speeds and I could not detect any degradation in speed through the switch.

This switch is fast and efficient. If you need an unmanaged network switch this is a great deal.

GREAT!!! plug and play. With this switch I was able to connect both printer via my mesh router and still have open ports to connect my laptop to ethernet/printers as an option.

With this handy device, I'm able to hook 4 devices to the router via 1 Ethernet cable (of course, cables are needed to hook the devices up to this switch). It's so much easier than having to swap one Ethernet cable around, and is faster than WiFi.

This unit was easy to setup and allowed me to extend a connection from my router to additional wired devices in another area of my apartment. This switch served my needs at a very reasonable price.

Very small, lightweight case. I needed a Gigabit 5 port switch and this was at a great sale price. It does have a power cord to plug in to an outlet. Works as expected.
