I am really somewhat impressed with this combination Orbi satellite and HK speaker. Setup into the network was straightforward and I am impressed with the sound. It is not the best you can buy, but the folks at HK have done an impressive job. It functions very well as a satellite node in an Orbi system. Just remember that it isn't a standalone speaker and as such does not come with things you would expect in a standalone speaker (for example, bluetooth). I am overall satisifed with the Orbi Voice. I had to dock it a star for two reasons: 1- although setup with the network was easy, getting it to integrate with the right Amazon account was a bit of a hassle. It kept jumping to an account that I did not want it to integrate with without asking to give Amazon credentials. I finally installed the Orbi app on another phone and got to ask for credentials. 2 - Although it functions as an Amazon Echo device/speaker it cannot be used in a multi-room music group. This is a BIG oversight and is really not mentioned anywhere. Although I am overall satisfied with the unit I might not have purchased it if I had known about this shortcoming.

Two year use review. Bought in July 2020 to use as wifi extension to the backyard from end of house and also as Alexa in my daughter’s room. We also have Orbi cable modem so set up was fairly easy through Orbi app. Speaker is loud for the size with deep enough bass for some music. It is heavier than it looks possibly due to the speaker built in. Performance: when it was working, I can get wifi signal at my backyard fence at 60 feet away. Strong enough to stream music, YouTube takes a little while to load but once it gets going it’s fine. Netflix will stream okay with low quality. But can’t multi task like stream music and browse internet, txt pictures, etc. My set up does go through one wall (drywall on inside with wood and Hardie board on outside). No trees in between device and orbi voice. Con: would not set up as standalone wifi extender without orbi router. Problems with this began esrly this year when I switched to a fiber internet. Since my Orbi router/modem is strictly a cable modem, I was unable to use it as a router like before. Since everything in my house is on an existing network, I set up that modem as an access point so I can keep my existing network name and p/w.m since all my devices are set up already. Once the switch was made Orbi voice and extender stopped working. The clue is when Alexa responds with “Sorry, I’m having trouble understanding right now. For help, please go to net gear Orbi app.” It was giving me a purple/magenta glow which is loss of network according to orbi website. I reset it as they suggested, and it would work for a day or two then back to the purple ring. I even tried hardwiring, still same result. I currently have it set up through nighthawk app since orbi app won’t work due to my router being setup as an access point. But Alexa still won’t work. I assume it’s working fine as a router because I have decent wifi connection when I’m in my backyard, I just don’t have Alexa capability to control anything while I’m inside my daughters room.

I've had this up and running for about a month now. Speaker works great and this covers my top floor, two TVs, 3 phones, 2 laptops.

This Netgear Orby system with the extenders is absolutely excellent. I live in a 3600 square-foot house with a lot of corners and my original am or via a router is in the office which has a lot of corners say that to my part of the house and then to downstairs part of the house so I had to buy two extenders one with the voice extender and they are all excellent products they were well installed at work perfectly my Wi-Fi is extremely fast and I run eight devices on it and it is absolutely wonderful The Voice extender is also Bluetooth so I can play music from it and it’s also Alexa enabled speech which is absolutely wonderful and the price was very affordable considering the products excellently for delivering what it should be delivering.

This is my 4th Orbi satellite I’ve added to my mesh. Really happy with how they work and provide much better coverage over the entire house. I had some issues getting this new satellite to link to my existing Orbi system and was not able to find a solution online. I emailed Netgear Tech Support and they said this unit (brand new to me) exceeded the shelf life for their product support. They made an exception this one time and were able to provide alternative synching instructions that eventually worked.

The Orbi system has provided my 5600 sq. ft. home complete coverage. My wifi is working faster and better that ever before. I have premium tech support so they were the one to install my system. What a great value

I'm pleased with this device as we're a combined Alexa-Google home household, with devices in different rooms. It extends our wifi out our bedroom window into our backyard well, and serves as a speaker that reaches outside. Is also a great alarm and a good deterent to ask Alexa to "read me a Disney story" to distract my kids when I need to do something or think beyond their talking. Had some challenges with the initial set up as I had an existing Orbi router connected to my ATT service, but the Orbi customer service process was helpful, though lengthy due to sheltering in place.

We have had the Orbi system in our home for many years (AC3000) and absolutely love it. It works brilliantly and we almost never have issues with it. Due to the pandemic my husband needed to start working from home. Our choices were run a 50 foot Ethernet cable from the upstairs office to the upstairs hardwired Ethernet switch (with a kitten in the house you can imagine how awful of an idea this would be lol) OR we get another Orbi puck for the office upstairs and he could hardwire into that. We already had great Wi-Fi but he needed some type of hardwired connection even if the signal turns wireless after the fact. This was a pricey investment at another $200 on top of our already expensive $600 system. That said, it works PEEFECTLY. We have a gigabit Ethernet connection at home and this little baby provide an extremely stable connection. He has worked for months now, uninterrupted, and it’s basically just flawless. While it is a speaker and we set up Alexa, we don’t use it at all for that. It sounded good when I tried it when I got it, but that’s not what we use or for. Anyway, it’s great so go check it out!

Sound quality is nice. Little bulkier than expected but overall pleased with device. Took about 15 minutes to finally get set up.

Ok, as a stand-alone hotspot or router it works well. It does not integrate into the rest of the Orbi family of routers, which is what I was hoping for. I have a Orbi RBR40 main router, with two other satellites, and was hoping this would act as a third. The Alexa integration and better sound was a bonus... well, not really. It turns out that it takes a separate “skill” to be loaded into your Alexa account to operate that function, which I could never get to work. I am very familiar with the Alexa platform, and write personal apps and customizations for it. Your mileage might vary. Returned after much frustration.

This is an add on unit to the Orbi meshed network to accommodate the good wifi on our upper floor. The set-up was easy and the unit connected right away without any issues. So far no issues and I don't expect any.

Looking for an internet signal extender - an Orbi would be a great choice. The speaker quality and Alexa make this an even better choice. Well worth the money. The sound is incredible.

Have Orbi system in our house but needed to extend to a dead area in our back patio. This one was the price on a standard Orbi extender but with a higher end Alexa speaker built in and it works and sounds great!

Orbi Voice is an excellent mesh satellite. It greatly improved the wifi upstairs in my house. However, set up required that I completely reset my Orbi router and other satellite and took hours. The voice volume also goes all the way down for no reason and can only be fixed by pulling the plug - just turning it off won't work.

Excellent for Alexa and other streaming music. A reasonable wifi extender but seems at times to struggle to stay connected. Likely more of an issue with my ISP provider.

With it being Alexa enabled I thought I would be able to make announcements and drop-in, but it doesn't. It does everything else, so really no complaints.

I really like this product but I love it when its working normally. In connection to the rest of my orbi set up this is a great addition but for some reason Alexa works intermittently. Not much support on the app as alexa advised you to do, so that is a bit frustrating. Otherwise I really do enjoy it.
