New Risen Throne - Journey To Reach The Fathers - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

On his first GENUIN , the versatile pianist Alexey Lebedev demonstrates how broadly one can grasp the concept of romanticism. The prizewinner of international competitions spans a wide range of well-known and loved works of the 19th century on his album from Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonatas op. 109 and 110 to the nocturnes and a polonaise by Frédéric Chopin and Franz Liszt's Dante Sonata. The eloquence of Beethoven's late works, Chopin's romantic character pieces, and Liszt's literary and musical reflections, together with Lebedev's clear interpretation, allow the boundaries between classical and romantic, and between absolute and program music to merge!

Scanner (British musician Robin Rimbaud) has been inventively active in Electronic Music since 1991 and involved in a range of musical activities covering sonic art, concerts, installations, recordings and dance scores. His impeccable sonic credentials have seen him work with such luminaries as Bryan Ferry, Michael Nyman & Laurie Anderson. His recent online live shows were seen by Ian Boddy who invited Rimbaud to produce an album for the highly respected DiN tag. The nine tracks form a musical journey ranging from ambient interludes through to pulsing machine-like rhythms. There's always a sense of detail in the sonic backdrop which is just out of reach. A sense of yearning that opens the album with the track InchThe AscentInch and flows through to the beautiful ending of the final track InchCounterpointeInch.
