Newhart: The Complete Seventh Season - DVD [3 Discs]

The inimitable Bob Newhart is back for another hilarious helping of off-kilter comedy in the sixth season of the delightfully daffy Emmy-nominated sitcom, Newhart. Season Six finds innkeeper, author, and television host Dick Loudon (Newhart) and his wife Joanna (Mary Frann) facing a whole new batch of comic misadventures as they contend with running the Stratford Inn as well as the oddball natives of their quaint Vermont town. However, their quirky companions-handyman George (Tom Poston), queasily cutesy couple Michael (Peter Scolari) and Stephanie (Julia Duffy), and those brothers in buffoonery, Larry (William Sanderson), Darryl (Tony Papenfuss), and Darryl (John Voldstad)-are there to ensure that even in their own inn, the Loudonswill find no shelter from the storm of silliness that surrounds them.

Bob Newhart returns as Dick Loudon, the New Yorker who runs a small B&B in Vermont with his wife Joanna (Mary Frann). Things operate a little differently up in ski country, as exemplified by their disparate group of friends and neighbors including Larry (William Sanderson) and his brother Darryl (Tony Papen fuss) and his other brother Darryl (John Voldstad). Season Two highlights include Dick fighting against the advances of a celebrity author, Joanna challenging the towns historical practice of the men and women eating separately during the towns potluck dinners, Stephanie (Julia Duffy) getting lost in a snowstorm, Kirk (Steven Kampmann) planning to sell the Minuteman Cafe and more! Newhart marked the return to television for multiple Emmy nominated actor and legendary comedian Bob Newhart. If you like Bob, you'll love Newhart.

Dr. Kildare's swansong fifth season carried with it some significant changes to the show's format. No longer a once-weekly one hour drama, Dr. Kildare was now a twice-weekly half hour serial with storylines stretching over multiple parts and, perhaps even more excitingly, James Kildare M.D. (Richard Chamberlain) and Dr. Leonard Gillespie (Raymond Massey) were now being broadcast in color!
