Amazing story and visuals! There are 3 games in this series so far. This is the first one. You just have to play this game. The gameplay is a little frustrating at first but you get the hang of it eventually.

This is a role playing game that incorporates elements from final fantasy and pokemon. Studio Ghibli did all of the cut scenes. And so the graphics are anime inspired because of Studio Ghibli. The characters are really likeable. The music is top notch. The story is about a boy who goes to another world to save his mom... and save our world and the world he travels to also. If you like RPG's this is a no brainer... pick it up and you won't be disappointed.

This game will delight the inner-child in you. The visuals, the music, the characters, the world. Everything is pure and lovely in a way that is still realistic for the player. I love the combat (half action-based and half turn-based) because I like having time to make decisions. I am an average gamer with little experience in RPG. Everything is this game contributes to the nostalgic Studio Ghibli experience.

Even for being I title released for the ps3 the graphics and game play are still solid. The story is amazing. The music I still haven’t gotten sick of it. And the visuals? WOW A++ decision in going with Studio Ghibli in helping designing this game. It’s wonderful, and it’s a great tool for my 6 year old who is learning to read (there is a lot of reading between the cutscenes) 40+ hours of fun gameplay

This is a great entry (beginner) jrpg. It may not be for everybody as it feels quite easy at the beggining so please bear some patience as your character evolves , the graphics ,animations, story and sound are all top notch as they are made by studio ghibli and the switch version is a great port except perhaps for the poor ai of your team mates. Other than that, this title is highly recommended

Ni No Kuni is a love letter from the legendary anime company, Studio Ghibli, to JRPG fans. It's beautiful and charming with a wonderful story full of interesting characters. It's one of those games that comes along and is immediately one of those must play, must experience games. Luckily, the game was ported from the PS3 and brought to modern systems. So, how does the Switch version hold up? Well, pretty good actually. It's not the remastered version with a vastly improved resolution that runs at 60fps on PS4. It's 720p, 30fps like the PS3 version with some minor graphical improvements here and there. This means, it looks and runs perfectly fine and nothing about the visuals and performance detracts from the experience. So, if you're interested in getting this game and all you own is a Switch, go ahead and get this version, as it's a great experience and it looks and runs perfectly fine. If you own a Switch as well as a PS4/PS4 Pro, ask yourself, do you want 1080p 60fps on your OG or Slim PS4, so you want 1440p 60fps and 4k 30fps on your PS4 Pro, or do you want 720p 30fps and portable gaming on Switch. Outside of that, it's largely the same game regardless of your chose platform.

Best JRPG I've played. Story combat visuals and controls all are great. I'm not a pokemon fan but if you like that franchise the fiends that you have you can train for battles that you will fight with. Give this one a shot. It's better than the second one.

Excellent art and cute story, yet combat is engaging. It feels a bit like a real-time Pokémon battle.

Ok, this game seems easy and like only kids would like it at first, but I’m not kidding when I say it’s one of the most challenging games I’ve ever played. The actual fighting part of gameplay picks up quick and you really have to strategize to win! I have been surprised but I also love Studio Ghibli and the story. It’s really a beautiful game with a sweet story and good gameplay.

This is a port of a PS3 game. It’s not remastered like the PS4 version. That being said, this game is gorgeous on the Nintendo Switch. The Switch gives you the added bonus of portability so that you can tame familiars, cast spells, and explore the beautiful Ghibli crafted worlds on the go. Do not sleep on this one. It is an rpg lovers dream.

This is a lengthy rpg, with alot of content to play with all dlc included on cart graphically it looks as good as the ps3 version but in a portable mode isntead the game itself is fun for all ages and most ppl will enjoy wther young or old this is a rather good game made with the help of studio ghibli.

If you like Studio Ghibli and Level-5 Games you'd be doing yourself a disservice by skipping this title. It has an awesome story, charming characters and world. And the animation by Studio Ghibli really makes the world come alive and the fact that you can play this on the go is the icing on the cake.

Remastered for the Switch, what!? Are you kidding me! This game was made for the Switch. The art style from Studio Ghibli (Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, etc.) is off the hook. It's and adorable RPG and a really fun time. If you like anime and RPG this is a must purchase.

I played this game on PS3 but never beat it. Finally on Switch I can play portable whenever I have time. That is the advantage of playing RPG games on Switch. You can play at your own pace. Great buy!

Level 5 did a wonderful recreating the magical wonder of a Ghibli anime film into a video game. Though the Switch port runs into the occasional issues, Ni No Kuni is a timeless JRPG classic that will never show any signs of aging—especially due to its painterly, unique graphics.

This is what a console style Pokemon game should be! Forget about Sword and Shield (which feel just like their 3DS counterparts) this is a true JRPG Epic! The art style by studio Ghibli is absolutely stunning with fantastic characters and an amazing story. Highly Recommended
