About this product

After two albums devoted to Italian music from the 17th and 18th centuries (BIS-2585 and BIS-2645), male soprano Nicolo Balducci now offers us a recital devoted to the greatest representatives of Viennese Classicism - Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven - in the company of the fortepianist Anna Paradiso, whom we recently heard in a recording devoted to the work of Caroline Ridderstolpe together with mezzo-soprano Kristina Hammarstrom (BIS-2675).The vocal compositions gathered here, which include such rarities as two songs in French by Beethoven, are performed by a male soprano - in many cases the first time they have been recorded by this voice type. This original approach by the two performers makes it possible 'to explore unusual nuances, both in the interpretation and in the InchsoundscapeInch of this music, and to find new angles of inspiration in our interpretations' (Balducci). The combination of high voice and fortepiano emphasises the link between sound and words, with a dimension closer to chamber music, inspired by the specific timbre of the instruments. 'One of the fascinating aspects of the pieces on this recording is the power of their rhetorical expression', writes Paradiso. Balducci and Paradiso invite us here to be entertained and moved and to discover 'glimpses of intimate connections and shared secrets'. Details 1. Adelaide, Op. 46 2. Als Luise die Briefe ihres ungetreuen Liebhabers verbrannte, K 520 3. Abendempfindung an Laura, K 523 4. An Chloe, K 524 5. Fidelity, Hob. XXVIa 30 (No. 6 of Original Canzonettas, Set I) 6. Adagio in B minor, K 540 for keyboard solo 10. Dans un bois solitaire, K 308/295b 11. Plaisir d'aimer, WoO 128 12. Que le temps me dure, WoO

D'Fonseca / Hansen / Penderup - Complete Works of Ida Henriette D'fonseca - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Ida Henriette Fonseca was born in Copenhagen in 1806. Her father was Abraham Fonseca, a first generation immigrant and a German-Portuguese Jew from Hamburg, who at the beginning of the 19th century settles down in Copenhagen as a broker. Here, he marries a local woman, Maria Louise Kiaerschou. The Danish theatrical historian Poul Hansen describes Abraham Fonseca at the end of the 19th century quite derogatively as Inchan immigrated Portuguese from the newly arrived banker aristocracy.Inch Ida has three sisters and two brothers. The finance sector is by no means a big business in Copenhagen in the years following the national bankruptcy of 1813. So the Fonseca Family have to struggle to feed their children. The children grow up and must contribute to the household as soon as possible. Several of them are talented singers, and if one wants to progress as a singer in Copenhagen in the 1820s, there is one man to turn to the choirmaster Giuseppe Siboni at the Royal Theater, which is where Ida honed her craft. She went on to become the leading singer in Scandinavia, and was a skilled composer as well. This is the first ever complete recording of the 18 beautiful songs by the singer and composer. The songs are original, melodic, and utterly charming. Album Tracks 1. Einsamkeit 2. Die Erwartung 3. Den Angrende Skole-Pige 4. Granen Ved Lougen 5. Über Die Berge Dort 6. GRÆD Ei! 7.
