Night Has Settled - BLU-RAY

An English spy replaces a high-ranking German Baron during WWI, and fools everybody -- except for the head of the secret police, who schemes to expose him. This international cast includes George Sanders, Peter Lorre, and Mexican starlet Dolores del Rio.

In 1983 New York, thirteen-year-old Oliver Nicholas stands on the edge of adolescence, eager for first love and rebellion. His world upends when Aida, his beloved 65-year-old Chilean housekeeper and maternal figure, suffers a stroke. As grief and home chaos collide, Oliver wanders a surreal emotional landscape of eccentric friends, family turmoil, and the painful beauty of first experiences, turning his rite of passage into a darkly comic fight for identity.

Industrialist Cornelis van Doorn (Kees Brusse) got so filthy rich because he wasted nothing... as demonstrated by how he turned the animal hormone waste from his slaughterhouses into a side business of birth control pills. The time came, though, when he had to choose a successor from amongst his kids, legitimate or otherwise-and the only competent candidate (Rudolf Lucieer) was cursed with ethics. Sexy satire co-stars Andrea Domburg, Hugo Metsers, Sonja Barend. 107 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack Dutch; Subtitles English; audio commentary; bonus short InchFestival of LoveInch (1969); image gallery; theatrical trailers. In Dutch with English subtitles.
