I have lorex bnc wired cameras, dvr lost 4 channels and I want to see if I can use my lorex bnc 4k cameras from lorex model D861, on a night owl dvr?

Night Owl DVRs are designed and tested to work with compatible Night Owl cameras, and features or video may not function properly with cameras from other brands. If you're looking to reuse your existing cameras, we'd be happy to help you find a compatible Night Owl solution. Otherwise, we recommend using Night Owl cameras with the Night Owl DVR to ensure full functionality and the best performance.
Can I use with my Wisnet cameras
Answered by Night OwlUnfortunately, no — the Night Owl 20-Channel Wired 4K 2TB DVR Security System is not compatible with Wisnet cameras. This DVR is designed to work only with compatible Night Owl wired cameras that use the same proprietary signaling and firmware. Third-party brands like Wisnet will not pair or record properly, even if the cables look similar.
Can this system be programmed to automatically move files to an external hard drive? Or do I need to periodically do it myself?
Answered by Night OwlThis system does not support automatic or scheduled file transfers to an external hard drive. You would need to manually back up footage by connecting a compatible external USB hard drive to the DVR and exporting the recordings as needed through the on-screen menu. The internal 2TB hard drive records continuously on its own, so most customers only back up clips they want to save long-term or share. Does the system provide and record audio from the cameras? Does the system support PTZ?

Can I use this device to record programming from my TV?
Answered by Night OwlThe Night Owl 20-Channel Wired 4K 2TB DVR is designed only for use with Night Owl security cameras. It cannot function like a cable box DVR or record programming from your TV. This DVR records security camera footage directly to its built-in hard drive and plays back through the Night Owl Protect app, a monitor connected to the DVR, or a CMS software on your PC/Mac.
