  • General
    • Brand: Nikon
    • Model Number: 1555
    • Product Name: D7200 DSLR Camera with 18-140mm Lens
    • Color: Black
    • Product Set: w/ 18-140mm Lens
    • Camera Model Family: Nikon D7200
    • Digital Camera Type: DSLR Camera with Lens
  • Imaging
    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)
    • Image Resolution (Display): 6000 x 4000 (Refers to the number of pixels, both horizontally and vertically, used to either capture an image or display it. The higher the resolution the finer the image details.)
    • Low Light/High Sensitivity: true (High sensitivity digital imaging devices are designed to work in low light conditions to produce a high dynamic range image.)
    • Image File Format(s): JPEG (Standardized software format(s) of storing digital images. The type of format chosen for capturing and compressing the image can determine quality, level of detail, and storage space required.)
  • Focus
    • Autofocus: true (Allows the camera to automatically focus through the lens, rather than by adjusting the lens manually.)
  • Exposure Control
    • Shutter Speeds: 1/8000 - 30 sec. in steps of 1/3 or 1/2 EV bulb, time, X250 (The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, expressed in fractions of seconds. The longer the shutter is open, the more light that is able to be captured by the camera sensor.)
    • Minimum Aperture: 38 (The smallest opening of a lens, typically expressed in f-numbers. The larger the number, the smaller the aperture and the less light that can enter the lens. A smaller aperture creates a larger depth of field, which keeps both foreground and background in focus.)
    • Maximum Aperture: 3.5 (The limit to how wide a lens can be open, typically expressed in f-numbers. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture and the more light that can enter the lens. A larger aperture creates a shallower depth of field, helpful for keeping subjects in focus and blurring background details.)
    • Minimum ISO: 100 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. When there is plenty of light, using the lowest ISO setting available will typically result in a higher quality image.)
    • Maximum ISO: 25600 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. In low-light environments, using a higher ISO setting helps to capture a sharp, bright image.)
    • Maximum Expandable ISO: 25600 (ISO is the measurement of a camera image sensor's light sensitivity. Expandable ISO settings use software to simulate brighter images than the device's native ISO range is capable of capturing.)
    • Brightness Control: true (Allows the camera to adjust the brightness of a captured image for optimal exposure.)
    • Burst Mode: true (Also referred to as continuous shooting. This feature captures multiple shots in rapid succession.)
    • Self Timer: true
    • Self-Timer Delay: 20 seconds
    • Shooting Modes: Auto, auto (flash off), A (aperture priority), M (manual), P (programmed auto with flexible program), S (shutter priority) and more (Exposure modes employed by the photographer to control the optimal aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and other settings for capturing specific subjects/scenes. Examples include Aperture-Priority, Macro, and Manual modes.)
    • Panorama Mode: false
    • Scene Modes: Autumn colors, beach/snow, blossom and more (Exposure modes with predetermined optimal settings for capturing specific scenes. Examples include Landcape, Portrait, and Sports modes.)
    • White Balance Modes: Auto (2 types), incadescent, fluorescent (7 types), direct sunlight, flash, cloudy and more (Settings that calibrates how the color white is rendered in an image/video, reducing the appearance of unnatural contrasts caused by various light sources.)
    • Effective Pixels: 24.2 megapixels (The actual number of pixels which make up the viewable image.)
  • Lens
    • Lens Mount Compatibility: Nikon FX
    • Minimum Focal Length: 18 millimeters (The minimum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The shorter the focal length, the greater the area of scene captured.)
    • Maximum Focal Length: 140 millimeters (The maximum distance between the lens and the image sensor that allows the subject to be in focus. The greater the focal length, the smaller the area of scene captured.)
    • In-Lens Image Stabilization: true (This feature helps reduce image blurring from camera motion. Lens stabilization means an element within the lens moves automatically to counteract detected motion.)
  • Flash
    • Flash Modes: Automatic, Forced, Off, Red-eye reduction, Slow sync (The flash feature emits light to increase the brightness of a subject in dimly lit environments. Common modes include Auto and Red-Eye Reduction.)
    • Integrated Flash: true
    • External Flash Mount: Hot Shoe (A cold shoe is a mounting point on top of a camera to securely attach a flash unit or other compatible accessories. A hot shoe is a cold shoe with an electrical connection that insures communication and synchronization between camera and accessory.)

Q: D7200 vs.D7100

A: The D7200 has 3x the buffer capacity. It has approximately 30% more battery life when using it for still photography. It has built-in WiFi and NFC. It will not support simultaneous live view using both HDMI and USB. If the D7200 and the D7100 are connected via HDMI - it will display on both he HDMI device and the cameras LCD.

Q: i see on other websites that this camera is weather sealed but on hear it says its not waterproofed and says nothing about weather sealing. I'm sure i can't dunk in the water either way but is it weather sealed?

A: The Nikon D7200 DSLR body employs the use of a magnesium alloy to ensure that it's highly durable body is effectively sealed for superior resistance to dust and water drops. This camera body is not waterproof, and may malfunction if immersed in water or exposed to high levels of humidity. Rusting of the internal mechanism can cause irreparable damage. To learn more about care of the Nikon D7200 please contact Nikon Support.

Q: What is lens model in this package?

A: The D7200 comes with the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Zoom Lens.

Q: The questions were posted as 3 years ago. So, I am thinking why I was looking and considering a 3 year old model? Please help me understand. I am wanting to buy an upgraded camera from my D90. Pixel is so much better then mine! But I am lost.

A: Although this camera is an older model (the d7500 is the latest), it is a fantastic camera, and has all of the latest technology. I also upgraded from a d90, and theres a huge difference. I preferred the d7200 over the d7500. The only difference between the two is that the d7500 takes slightly better video.

Q: Does this package come with a neck strap (AN-DC1), a rubber eyecup (DK-23) and an eyepiece cap (DK-5) ? I've seen these items included in the same D7200 body/lens packages elsewhere.

A: Yes! I wasn't sure and went out and bought a neck strap not thinking it came with it. It comes with a neck strap and both eye caps.

Q: What system languages does it have? Does it have Chinese?

A: The Nikon D7200 DSLR camera menu does support the language of Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). This camera also supports the languages of Arabic, Bengali, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Marathi, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

Q: Which Camera do you suggest if I have to buy one between NIKON-D7100 and NIKON-D7200. And what zoom / tele lens are good to this?

A: There are two main enhancements with the D7200 that make is very attractive to spend the extra money for. One is the extremely high native ISO capability. This will allow you to shoot in lower light situations without having to use a flash. The other is built-in wifi. The camera will communicate with Nikon's free Wireless Mobile Utility App (available for both iOS and Android operating systems). You will be able to view the pictures on your camera's memory cards as well as control the camera's shutter from your smart phone or tablet. The D7100 allowed you to do this as well, however, it requires an extra accessory purchase of the Nikon WU-1a wireless mobile adapter. The 18-140 is an excellent starter lens for either camera. If you are looking for more zoom, you might want to check out the 18-300mm, available at Best Buy, both in store and online.

Q: Does the D7200 w/ 18-140mm lens from Best Buy come w/ a strap & a lens hood

A: Yes, it comes with both a strap and lens cover
