Q: I have lens to fit a Nikon D5300. Will these lens fit this camera?
A: They will fit with the FTZ adapter, which you would need to purchase. If your lenses are DX format (cropped sensor), they will work, but they will not work well on a full-frame camera like this one. If the lenses are Nikon lenses, it should say on the side of the lens if it is DX or FX format. The D5300 is a DX format camera, but your lenses could be either DX or FX. If they are FX, they will work as intended.
Q: what are the recommended lenses for the Z-5? are they the same as the Z-50?
A: Any of the Z line lenses unless you buy the ftz adapter. I use a 35mm & 24-70mm on the adapter

I’m coming from a shooting with the Nikon D800 for about 7 years now and i’ve had a lot of trouble switching over to mirrorless. I’ve tried out Sony and Cannon even the Z6ii but those files didn’t satisfy my taste. I picked up this camera thinking “eh I’m probably not gonna like this one either…it’s the cheapest full frame camera in Nikon’s lineup…I need the *pro* cameras which are $3000 +” to my surprise this camera is everything I wanted. It’s has all the pros of a Nikon plus the advantages of mirrorless such as eye af, it’s much lighter, touchscreen af, and more

The first time I have a full frame digital camera. I mostly take videos of my grandchildren. I mostly use the Nikon Z lens 50mm 1:1.8. I like taking videos in the aperture priority mode because I can control the depth of field. The quality is so high even in HD that individual frames are perfect size and resolution for sharing with family and friends. What I also like is the Nikon tradition of compatibility with older lenses. With the FTZ adapter I can use all my older lenses. I have only started exploring the camera's options. However, I was able to start using it with a minimal preparation. It is worth noting the camera's low light capabilities. One of the pictures below is a frame from a HD video the other is a RAW picture.

My first use of a full sensor and I’m very amazed in the difference from my old crop sensor d3500. The quality of the AF and usability compared to the other Nikon. I am not a pro photographer but really looking to start, this will definitely get my feet wet with the quality of pics. Here are couple shots with my 50mm 1.8 Nikkor z mount lens
