This is a great, high quality controller for my Wii U. To be clear, it is indeed compatible with both. Here some reasons you might want to pick this up: 1. This has the Motion Plus capability built in, which a large group of Wii and Wii U games require. No need for an attachment, which makes for a smaller, more compact controller. 2. The D-Pad and back cover have a less glossy, more matte finish plastic, which provides slightly better grip - especially if you're someone who uses it without a sleeve. 3. Sync button (for pairing a controller to a specific console) is now on the outside of the controller. No more opening up the controller to sync it to a console. 4. You can use all of your sleeves and other peripherals from your other Wii controllers, as this is the same size as the original Wii remote. 5. This is a genuine Nintendo controller.

It's worth paying a bit more for the actual Nintendo Wii remote versus the off brand products. The Nintendo remotes are better quality and the batteries last longer. We made the mistake of buying an off brand and the connection to the Wii would turn off at random. This has been used a lot with the wheel and we've never had an issue.

I love this controller for my Wii U. Not only does it look great with the Luigi theme, but it feels great in my hand because of the grip that it comes with. It includes Wii Motion Plus and works with pretty much every Wii and Wii U game. Overall a great controller

I am so glad I got this remote. I have had off brands and eventually had problems. This one has been dropped and even accidentally tossed and it still works great. I like the smaller size and the sleek black makes the unit all cohesive!

This remote was purchased for the Super Mario cart 8 game and it works perfectly. I like how you can turn it like a wheel rather then using a gamepad. I also like the new colors on these remotes.

This a just a good, sturdy, well-made controller for use with your Wii. Nothing special being a plain old black controller, but it has motion+ built in, it's well made and heavy duty so you don't have to worry about it breaking the first time it flies off one of the kids' hands, and it works perfectly. All-in-all it does exactly what it was designed to do, and it does it exceptionally well. But nothing extra here--no lights, etc.

Great design and feel. Comes with the rubber jacket as well which adds to the comfort and control of the Wii Mote. Would definitely recommend if you're in the market for a Wii Mote with Motion Plus (as this has it built in) and you want to deviate from the standard powder blue or black Wii Mote!

My 4 year old loves this remote! Its the perfect girly remote. She plays with it all the time and tests its durability limitations. It fits in our old wheel for mario cart, and the old nun-chuck works with it as well. It has a wii motion plus inside of it and it is regular sized witch is great for bowling and other great games..

Love the product the way it fits right in the kids palm of their little hands the love the serve tal colors that it comes in yes it works on both systems wii and the wii u but for the wii u you need the ones that say at the bottom of controls that say motion control.

My kids love this controller because of the Mario theme and it sets it apart from out other controllers. It is great that we can use it with both our wii and our wii u. Like all of these controllers, it is easy to sync with the consoles.

This remote works with both Wii and Wii U and has such a unique fun design. It's nice to have a variety of colors and designs for multiple players. The kids like getting to choose their remote when playing together

When it comes to peripherals and accessories, first party products are usually the best choice overall. And this case is no different. It looks sleek, works well and is compatible will all recharging devices.

It took about 2 minutes to set up this Wii U remote, including inserting the batteries provided. I love the protective cover which make the remote easy to grip and protects the unit in case of a drop.

The kids love this controller. It works well and they love the Mario colors. Also if they drop it in the couch or somewhere, it is easy to spot.

I didn't think this would be compatible with the regular wii but it is! So happy I found a girly controller so the kids can have a little more fun

No issues with the remote. It is nice having the different color remotes so that everyone in the family can have one. The rubber cover is nice as well. Keeps it safe from my kids.

We needed another motion plus controller and did consider off brands. Glad we did not. We now have a set of 4 different colored ones and the kids are happy. Works as designed!

Kids were happy I got them both their own controller especially since I got then their favorite colors they work very well and now we can all play together and enjoy the game
