NOFX - They've Actually Gotten Worse Live - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

SELF ENTITLED is NOFX's twelfth studio full-length, yet it feels as potent as any material they've released. Rather than drifting off into a land of forgettable and mindless rehashes of their older material l like many other veteran acts, NOFX approached SELF ENTITLED with a reinvigorated virility. The twelve tracks fully embrace the hostile early LA punk sound while maintaining just the right amount of that trademark technical and melodic sound that NOFX is renowned for. Their hallmark sound and style matched with their ability to keep things fresh is unparalleled among their peers. SELF ENTITLED is a testament to these qualities and is yet another credit to the legacy. Album Tracks 1. 72 Hookers 2. I Believe in Goddess 3. Ronnie & Mags 4. She Didn't Lose Her Baby 5. 2016 from the veteran punks. What's really left to say about NOFX? For over thirty years the reigning kings of punk rock have remained relevant by continuing to push the boundaries of their music and lyrics in a way that's as endearing as it is infectious. For that reason it's remarkably apt that the band's First Ditch Effort is also their thirteenth, because ominous black clouds hang over this collection of songs that see frontman/bassist Fat Mike exploring self-loathing and mortality in a more raw and honest way than he ever has before. Guided by the collaborative influence of producer Cameron Webb (Motörhead, Alkaline Trio, Social Distortion, Pennywise), the album busts out of the gate with the amped up InchSix Years on DopeInch and never looks back. From the ultra-melodic word-play of InchOxy MoronicInch to the charging desperation of InchI Don't Like Me AnymoreInch, First Ditch Effort flexes the broad spectrum of NOFX's abilities and delivers on the musicianship, wit, and element of surprise that fans have come to expect.
