About this product
Angel Marcloid's recordings as Nonlocal Forecast focus the trajectory of a vast catalog squarely in the realm of retro Weather Channel-inspired smooth jazz fusion, intricate prog, and expansive new age experiments. Trading off a measure of the typically overloaded compositional style found in other projects to favor rich atmospheres and relatively pared down arrangements, Marcloid populates Nonlocal Forecast pieces with progressive keyboard and synth harmonies, complex drum programming, and majestic leads performed on guitar, keyboards, and guests' saxophones. The project runs alongside the omni-combinatory works of the flagship project Fire-Toolz and many other monikers including the vapor-focused works of Mindspring Memories. Holographic Universe(s?)!, the second Nonlocal Forecast full-length and the first to be released on vinyl, follows Bubble Universe! With a cycle of songs that elevates Marcloid's grandiose compositions to previously undiscovered heights, while packing the music with dramatic shifts that allow it to journey off into dynamic new directions.1) First Concrete Realization2) The Missing Link Is Extremely Nonlocal, Extremely Scrambled3) Imprinted, Encoded, Shone (Emergence)4) Interactions Between Brains & The Foam Of Potentiality5) Extended To Disparate Fields6) The Bubbling Up Of Duality On An Autumn Night By A Forest Stream7) We're Smeared Across A 2D Surface (Part 1)8) My Big T.O.E.9) We're Smeared Across A 2D Surface (Part 0)10) We're Smeared Across A 2D Surface (Part -1)11) Space-Time = Infinity-Eternity Objectified12) My Incomplete T.O.E. The music that Chicago-based producer/composer Angel Marcloid makes under the new moniker Nonlocal Forecast distills her experimentation in the prog, jazz fusion, and new age disciplines into pristine instrumental compositions teeming with intricate harmonic structures and complex webs of programmed percussion. Orbiting as another satellite around her genre-obliterating flagship projects like Fire-Toolz and MindSpring Memories, Nonlocal Forecast centers Marcloid's practice on a palette of technical guitar and keyboard leads and atmospheric MIDI synth arrangements. For the project's debut album Bubble Universe!, Marcloid drew inspiration from her personal studies in quantum physics/mechanics and non-dual spirituality. These frameworks steer her toward a strain of micro/macrocosmic composition in which the granular unfurling of rhythms and melodic elements evoke the movement of celestial bodies as much as subatomic particles on the smallest scale.1) Celestial Nervous System2) Planck Lengths3) Cloud-Hidden4) The Direct Path5) Triangular (feat. The fourth album from Beatlejazz is consistent with the group's three prior releases in concept and vision, presenting inventive jazz arrangements of the most beloved music of the 20th Century. Brian Melvin and Dave Kikoski create a beautiful new standard for the music of the Beatles.
