Great all-aluminum construction with overall quiet fans. There's a bit of coil whine at high loads but completely manageable. I was able to undervolt it to 2850 MHz @ 900 mV & + 2000 MHz memory clock speed with no performance drop. Peak temp dropped from 72 to 64 C, power consumption from 220 to 150 W.

After six months of using the Radeon 7800 XT, I decided to upgrade. I initially tried it out because I was curious about AMD after being loyal to NVIDIA for the past five years. Before this, I had the 4070 Ti. Honestly, the Radeon 7800 XT is a solid card! I prefer its software over NVIDIA's, and it performs really well in rasterization. But when it comes to ray tracing (RT), it just doesn't hold up. I considered getting the Radeon 9070, but I couldn’t justify paying more for a Radeon card purely out of curiosity. In my experience, the 7800 XT's performance was comparable to the 4070 Ti for 1440p raster gaming. That said, I’m now gaming on the 5070 FE, and the difference is impressive. Playing Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, I get twice the frames and far better image quality compared to the 4070 Ti, thanks to features like DLSS4 and frame generation 4x. If you can snag a 5070 FE at MSRP, I highly recommend it. I was lucky enough to find one at a store 30 miles away. The round trip took an hour, but it was totally worth it. The card is well-built, compact, and looks great. The new packaging is also nice, though I miss the old HDMI and DVI dust caps for port protection. Right now, I’m running Cyberpunk 2077 with the RT Overdrive quick preset. I’ve set DLSS Super Resolution to "quality" and DLSS Sharpness to 1, which gives me anywhere from 120–180 FPS depending on the scene. The fans average around 50%, and the temperatures hover between 74–76°C, occasionally spiking to 78°C on both the memory and core. Overall, I’m really happy with the upgrade and absolutely recommend the 5070 FE over any other card at MSRP for 1440p gaming.

Backstory: Upgrading from a 3080 FE to a 5070 FE is unthinkable, but I sold my 3080 FE to another FormD T1 owner with a "The Bro" discount/hookup, leaving me a net cost of about $200 for single player frame gen + 4 years of warranty (3 + 1 Visa). I took the bait and expected to pure mediocracy... This card blew my expectations out of the water. I only expected a 10-15% uplift, but with a pretty aggressive undervolt (935mv @ 3000 Mhz), those expectations were exceed while using around 170W on full load. Temps fight to get past 70C as well. 3Dmark and Heaven Benchmarks aren't church but theyre pretty consistent. I've attached those as well: Also, I've thrown in some size comparison pics for 3080 FE beside the 5070 FE in case anyone else needs those.
