New York singer-songwriter Odetta Hartman's 2015 debut mini-LP 222 and 2018's Old Rockhounds Never Die, saw her touring her unique performance style - part Jack White rock and roll folk blues, part electronic experimentations - with the likes of Let's Eat Grandma, Cosmo Sheldrake and Skullcrusher. Odetta's long-awaited second album, Swansongs, showcases her strongest set of songs to date. Another fever dream of a record, it includes the experimental pop of InchGoldilocksInch, the dramatic string lead InchDr No.Inch and her radical re-working of the traditional InchMotherless ChildInch; first made famous by her namesake Odetta. Equally inspired by AG Cook's Apple and New Orleans traditional jazz, the musical mixology of these songs spans various genres of folk, americana, pop, punk, soul, ambient and spiritual. Lyrically, it tenders the tension of two truths in opposition through it's inquisition of the interplay between fear and desire. Dichotomy is at the heart of this deep exploration into shadow work, mythological musings, healing frequencies, eclectic expressions, and the art of sculpted sound. Swansongs is a dynamic and powerful reflection of love and ambition; hopeful, energetic and at times chaotic but always captivating. Album Tracks 1. Rise Above 2. Goldilocks 3. Good Socks (Happy) 4. Winter Constellations 5. Wacky 6. Mudlark 7. Mother 8. Child 9. Chaos 10. Magic 11. Dr. No 12. Shea 13. Pictured Rocks 14. Ode 222 You

A truly rare original Long Playing is here out for the first time on album. The highly musical family of the violinist Emil Telmányi are performing music by two composers close to them and which they have championed all their life. The Nielsen Quintet, a rarely heard early work by the young composer, is here receiving it's first modern together with a selection of the romantic J.P.E. Hartmann works for strings. One critic called the LP Inchone of the most important additions to Danish music.Inch Emil Telmányi (22 June 1892 - 13 June 1988) was a Hungarian violinist. Telmányi, who was born in Arad, Partium, Transylvania, then in the Kingdom of Hungary, was also an exponent of the composer Carl Nielsen, having recorded some of his violin sonatas and his violin concerto. Telmányi settled in Copenhagen and was married to Nielsen's daughter, Anne Marie, from 1918 to 1933. One of his most famous recordings is a 1954 recording of Bach's Sonatas and partitas for solo violin played using a violin with what was referred to as the Bach (or Vega) bow, which could be adjusted so the player could play three or even all four strings of the violin at once. He died, aged 95, in Holte, Denmark.

SPANN OTIS / WALKING THE BLUES Perhaps best known for his long association with the legendary Muddy Waters, Otis Spann is largely recognized as one of the greatest blues pianists of all time, if not the greatest. Although Spann made a name for himself in Chicago by the mid 1940s, it wasn't until 1960 that he got the opportunity to record an album of his own. The sessions Spann did with Candid Records co-founder Nat Hentoff that year resulted in the legendary album Otis Spann Is The Blues. (Incidentally, this was also the first album ever recorded for the fledgling New York City based tag.) The tracks on Walking The Blues were recorded during those same sessions in August of 1960 in New York City. Left on the cutting room floor, they would not be officially released until 1972, two years after Spann's untimely death. Robert Lockwood Jr., also from Muddy Water's group, accompanies Spann on guitar here as he does on the Is The Blues album. But Walking The Blues also features Spann's close friend, veteran singer and composer James Oden, better known to blues fans as St. Louis Jimmy. Stripped down to just the these musicians, this magnificently performed and produced set showcases Spann's voice as well as piano. Spann stretches out with his pulsing two-handed rhythmic attack, and brings the barrelhouse piano style of his youth in line with the modern Chicago style he embodied. Album Tracks 1. It Must Have Been the Devil 2. Otis' Blues 3. Going Down Slow 4. Half Ain't Been Told 5. Monkey Face Woman 6. This Is the Blues 7. Evil Ways 8. Come Day, Go Day 9. Walking the Blues 10. Bad Condition 11. My Home Is in the Delta
