Olivier Thouin - Interwar Duets - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Invocation - Sym 82/88/104 [COMPACT DISCS] date 08/31/1993

Almost twenty years ago, Isabelle Faust and Jirí Belohlávek established a new milestone in the discography of Dvorák's Violin Concerto. The coupling, the tumultuous Trio in F minor, inaugurated the violinist's long and fruitful collaboration with Alexander Melnikov and Jean-Guihen Queyras.

Distinguished in his day as a conductor and pianist, Reinecke is now remembered chiefly as the teacher of some of the leading composers of the later 19th century. He was, at the same time, an immensely prolific if relatively conventional composer.
