About this product
German post-punk band Onyon scrambled our brains when we heard them, so much so that we signed them & reissued their debut cassette EP in June of '22. InchLast Days On EarthInch is the band's latest for Trouble In Mind. The oddball, synth-soaked world of Onyon is disorienting at first - the band's herky-jerky rhythms may operate in a familiar fashion to bands like Devo, or LITHICS, but Maria Untheim's woozy synth squiggles populate & punctuate the band's songs, flirting with the primitive cool of 80's minimal-synth and the wire-haired cretinism of 60s garage. Guitarist Ilka Kellner rages unpretentiously with edges torn & frayed, never afraid to unleash a spindly lead line over Florian Schmidt's rubbery bass lines & Mario Pongratz's stuttering drum patterns. Kellner & Untheim share vocal duties, but the real magic comes when the two sing together, voices merging in loosely harmonic gang vocals; one deadpan, the other slightly unhinged. The group's beguiling lyrics add to the mystique - inscrutable neu-world fables about egg machines, ghosts, worms that talk and urges to consume newspaper that ooze a rural, old-world understanding of life & the imperceptible spaces in between reality & fiction, transmuted thru a modernist sci-fi lens flare.

Funk legends Chic had numerous best-selling and influential albums that have survived the tides of time. This compilation album attempts the near impossible by attempting to cobble together Chic's best; it succeeds by including cuts from timeless albums such as Chic, C'est Chic and Risqué.

Vinyl LP pressing. Last Days On Earth is the third studio album by Swedish Rock band Svartanatt, and follows their 2016 self-titled debut as well as their 2018 sophomore full-length Starry Eagle Eyes. Last Days On Earth offers 11 new cuts of hard hitting retro rock. While continuing building on Svartanatt's solid foundation of '60s and '70s influenced rock, the album showcases even more varied and captivating soundscapes than before, where melodic organ and guitar arrangements interplay with a tight, rock solid rhythm section, all topped with songwriter Jani's unique, expressive vocals. The band comments It's a lot of doom and gloom on this album, at least in the lyrics. Faith in humanity, society and the own existence is nothing but a memory. Buried beneath a monument saying your days are numbered, welcome to hell. But one man's loss is another one's gain. What will rise from the ashes? There has been no shortage of creativity and fun when recording this album. There's a lot of classic Svartanatt but also an expansion of the sound. On the albums last track, Where I Belong, Lars Heaster (Daniels dad) has put down an epic trumpet that rides the album into the sunset. Magical, if we may say so. Last Days On Earth was recorded by Martin Borgh, who also mixed the album. Mastered by Hans Olsson Brookes (Bombus, Spiders, Graveyard, Blues Pills).
