Heavy Light, the title of his fourth album project, consists of three parts - a 3-channel film installation, a visual live-performance and the album itself. Hentschel expands the of the conventional album to an audiovisual experience by merging elements of film, dance and music in a synthesis of arts. The project evolved in the time of Corona, which first affected him visually when the city (Berlin) turned into a ghost town during the first lockdown. Light became the most vibrant element in the city, which influenced both picture and sound. Metallic, sometimes harsh and electrifying, surroundings of the urban life are landscaped into eclectic pulses.1. Vibe 6 352. Antenna Window 4 333. Stream Flash 3 274. Heavy Light 6 415. Teen Suicide's 2016 album, It's the Big Joyous Celebration, Let's Stir the Honeypot is also, according to the band, their final record. Recorded over 14 months with a Robert Altman-sized group of collaborators and performers, it's both a skeleton key for the band's earlier work and a great corrective addition to it. Updating rather than refuting all of the past themes and styles of their revered first LP and numerous EPs, Big Joyous Celebration shifts between punk, noise, country, house and a myriad of other electric dance genres to create something as messy, sprawling, and captivating as it's mouthful of a title. Spread over 26 tracks, there is plenty that Teen Suicide's swansong has to say for itself in the band's distinct, captivating, and refreshingly enjoyable voice.
