Blending R&B with doo-wop, the music of Dion DiMucci helped pave the way for countless rockers who followed. Gaining prominence as lead singer with The Belmonts, Dion was the most debonair of teen idols and his classy vocals set him apart from many other performers of the era. This 17-track LP presents the best hits of the early and, perhaps most significant, years of his recording career. It offers a fascinating insight into the respective talents of The Belmonts as a vocal group including Dion and of Dion as a solo artist, projecting himself in a different way in a rapidly evolving market. The iconic classics featured here, such as A Teenager In Love, Runaround Sue and The Wanderer, have appeared in countless movies and television shows over the past 50 years, making for an evocative showcase which highlights his exceptional talents.
