Ossuary - Oltretomba - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. Italian occult heavy rockers THE Ossuary are finally back with their long awaited fourth album InchRequiem for the SunInch, delivering eight new songs of doomy and psychedelic heavy metal. Deeply rooted in 70's rock and the darker side of NWOBHM, this record sees the band indulging in more introspective occult themes and expanding their downer rock towards further sonic territories with a more spectral and oneiric approach. Yet, THE Ossuary remains relentlessly authentic - keeping the raw, unfiltered spirit, carving it's own path beyond trends and conventions. THE Ossuary draw inspiration from the dark depths of human existence to create a sonic experience that is both grounded and otherworldly. From the ominous opening of InchSacrificeInch to the final sonic explosion of InchEloiseInch, InchRequiem for the SunInch unfolds like a cinematic soundscape - drenched in thunderous riffs, haunting melodies and vocals from beyond. Turn the volume up to 11 and immerse yourself in the ritualistic finale that InchRequiem for the SunInch has to offer.

For nearly 30 years, SUNN O))) - Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson - have pushed the boundaries of heavy music, straddling the worlds of the avant-garde and rock to forge a style instantly recognisable as their own. Now, SUNN O))) return with their first album of new material since 2019's acclaimed Pyroclasts. Their tenth album - their debut for Sub Pop - demonstrates the duo's mastery of time and space, light and dark, and their willingness to evolve their unmistakable sound into bold new forms. The eponymously titled SUNN O))) was tracked at Bear Creek Studios, Woodinville, Washington with Brad Wood (HuM, Tar, Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Phair). This location proved crucial to the recording process. InchThe vast tracking room had big windows looking out on trees,Inch says O'Malley. InchWe could go hiking and be out in the woods, spend time outdoors. That became a big part of it.Inch SUNN O))) have long welcomed collaborators into their self-contained world past work has featured, Attila Csihar (Mayhem), composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, multi-instrumentalist Steve Moore, polymath Mark Deutrom, Silkworm's Tim Midyett and legendary singer-songwriter Scott Walker. But on this album O'Malley and Anderson found fresh possibilities in the primal territory of the duo , performing all the instrumentation themselves. InchWhat's been happening with our performances over the last couple years with the two of us and no other collaborators has been really fresh and exciting,Inch says Anderson. The compositions on SUNN O))) are expansive and panoramic yet finely detailed, reflecting the arboreal setting in which they were recorded. Amidst howling feedback and glacial crunch, one finds surprisingly delicate moments a field recording of water trickles beneath, piano interludes lend a hushed, solemn feel. All while the duo attains fresh heights of telepathic intensity as they shape mus

Carnal Tomb from Germany's chaotic and vibrant capital city Berlin deliver their eagerly awaited third album, which is entitled InchEmbalmed in DecayInch and perfectly channels the spirit of old school death metal. Slightly shorter tracks, fast forward blast beats, and their characteristic doom-driven passages all add up to a contemporary version of classic death metal that will cement the German's status as one of the hottest young acts of this most brutal genre. Carnal Tomb took inspiration from the works of H.P. Lovecraft as well as gore and zombie movies such as Amando de Ossorio's 1972 genre classic InchTombs of the Blind DeadInch, and old Italian funeral places called 'putridarium', in which the corpses of the deceased were left to rot. These themes have also inspired the morbid cover artwork of InchEmbalmed in DecayInch by the artist Skavaldur. Carnal Tomb were formed in Berlin in 2014 out of a hunger for old school death metal that possessed all band members. Besides a remarkable number of demo recordings, EPs, split and single releases, their two full-lengths InchRotten RemainsInch (2016) and InchAbhorrent VenerationInch (2019) earned the band an excellent reputation in death metal circles around the globe. With the putrid death metal horror of InchEmbalmed in DecayInch, Carnal Tomb raise the blind dead from their tombs and unleash these monsters and other brutal evils upon an unsuspecting world.
