The stand doubles as a screen cover when carrying. Some complained the stand lays down to much .If you stand it in the corners on the other side it is upright at the perfect view . See pictures ,I set it in the stand both ways . It can lay down or stand at a nice angle . The material it is made of is Awesome .The buttons still function well ,Charge port is accessible and the outer cover fits snug as you would want . The Camera is still open so you still get the pic you want when you need to use a I pad for pics. I take my I pad with me on the go a lot so I prefer the protection the Otter Box gives as opposed to a nice leather folder type case .It is just my preference I have used Otter Box cases on my previous I pads and they looked brand new still when I passed them on .No broken glass or scratches. To me you cant go wrong .I think 5 stars are deserving

This is the perfect case for those of you that are clumsy, have kids, or a combination of both. This iPad case wraps tightly around the device and has much needed protection. The screen cover is attached to the case and offers protection from scratches. It does get dirty periodically and you have to take apart the case to clean the front and back of the protector but it is reusable and easy to clean. It does also come with a stand that is perfect when you want to put the tablet on a table to watch whatever video you want.

I tried out a few cases in pursuit of something waterproof/water resistant. Although there's about a half inch of rubber for water to angle its way through and into any of the speakers or ports, strictly speaking this is neither. But, I settled on this case because I can actually enjoy my iPad's qualities while using it. Waterproof cases totally diminish sound quality from the iPad Pro's 4 speakers. Furthermore, the lifeproof case has no screen protection (a must have) while griffin's screen protector wasn't flush like the otterbox is. I got very frustrated prodding at the corners trying to change tabs etc. No problems with the otterbox. I also don't find it adds too much heft and I personally like the textured rubber feel of the case. I would also add that the built in stand is great, not perfect, as more adjustability would be nice, but it is very stable and I get a heck of a lot of use of it. I think a nice stand is a must have and I like that it doubles in functionality as a screen protector or even a camera lens protector, when it's in a bag as it can be applied to either the front and rear of the case. On that note, one thing I would appreciate is a camera lens cap. Just a fold back piece of rubber or something, anything, honestly, to protect the camera as it is excellent on the iPad. Same goes for phones - on a general note - I buy premium phones almost exclusively for their top notch cameras, but cases almost never feature lens protection I can put my faith in. Anyway, knowing my iPad is safe is the only way I can enjoy it and now I've basically retired my laptop for all but the the most laborious keyboard tasks.

If you are like me and tend to be rough on items, buy this! It’s like Fort Knox for your iPad. The fit is perfect. Holes in all the right places. Speakers sound exactly the same with cover on. Built in screen cover functions as if there were none. At first there was some drag, but it may have been a protective coating that was gone after a good wipe. I don’t have the pencil, so I can’t speak the functionality of the screen protector with that. I don’t notice any change in color or clarity with the cover on. It was a bit of a trick to get it all put together, but only because static kept attracting fuzz to my iPad as I tried to lay the screen protector on. If you have an Otterbox for your phone you will know exactly how to put it on. If not the directions are very clear. Love it!

I wouldn't dream of investing in a piece of gear like the iPad Pro without protecting my investment. When I think of protection for my gear only one name comes to mind (Otterbox). The Otterbox Defender series for my iPad Pro is extremely well designed. It fits my device so well that it appears and feels like one unit instead of an iPad inside of a case. It protects the front, back and the screen. In addition to Otterbox's impressive design specs, the Defender still maintains a sleek, tech-savvy, eye-candy image that adds not only to the appeal of my iPad but it's value as well. Job Well Done! Bought this for a 256 GB IPad that I purchased so the kiddos have their movies downloaded and are able to watch them anywhere. The case protects very well especially when the little ones get ahold of it. The cover/stand is an added bonus.

I have three of these cases and is my second time purchase after upgrading to iPad Pros recently from Air. It's sad, that Apple keeps changing the layout every release!!! The case feels bulky, however is solid when holding it because of rubberized grip. It additionally has a plastic in front which protects iPad screen from inadvertently getting damaged. At times, there is an oily film that gets formed under the screen (I don't know why) which gets messy with touch experience rendering iPad useless at times until wiped cleaned by opening the entire case but puts the life back again. It's not water proof either, as using moist towels can get it under the plastic screen and be problematic. Other than these few quirks, the case is an excellent protection for the cost of iPad - knowing that there is a good recycling bonus for well kept devices.

When I purchased my new iPad I wanted to have great protection around the outside as my previous iPad had suffered a cracked screen due to it being poked out of my hand by my young children. I have an Otterbox for my iPhone and it has protected my phone multiple times; which is why I decided to give it a chance for the iPad. So far, I am very pleased with the size and weight of the case; however, the detachable front shield/stand I have found to be a good stand, but otherwise it is very bulky to use and put on. I found that unless I'm going somewhere, the shield stays at home. I feel as though the plastic screen protector is also good, but sometimes gets in the way of the fingerprint scanner/home button, but it isn't every time.

I have the otterbox defender on all my electronics that I can find one to fit. My iPad Pro, mini and iPhone all have thes3 cases. They keep you from getting a scratched screen, or breaking a screen or breaking the product when dropped. I like to take my electronics in the car and to keep th3m out of sight, I slide them under the seat. Did not know my seat had a sharp place so when I pulled my iPad out once I got home, the screen racked right across that sharp point and put a scratch on the otterbox but not on my iPad. So glad I had the case on there. Worth every penny.

The Otter Box has the ability to be used straight up for reading (or slanted). Also gives strong protection when flattened out in a secure case

I ordered this for my new iPad 9.7. This was the only one that looked like it would fit, but it did not. I had to exchange it at the store for the one that did fit. I love OtterBox and it does protect very well. The stand works great also.

Great iPad case with good protection. And the stand works very well. Great iPad case overall, and would recommend this product.

I love these cases on all my apple devices from phones to tablets. Protective cover over screen helps keep it scratch and fingerprint free. They withstand impacts on the floor from furniture drops and clumsy children. I’ve have previous devices in the same case and took them out to sell 3-4 years later and they look like they just came out of the box. Will always go back to this brand and the lifetime warranty is great when they get worn down or have defects. Huge plus.

This item is perfect for the PreK students to use. It is not too bulky and fits in their small hands with ease.

This is the best protective case out there. And when you sit in the built in stand it never slips or wobble around like others on the market. The stackable feature of the 2 shells allows you the comfort of using it in regular tablet mode and it stays on and makes it easy to transport either closed or stacked.
