Over the Rhine - Ohio - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The acclaimed conductor and composer Salvador Brotons is renowned for his music for symphonic band. It was Rebroll (Rebirth), a symphonic poem in one movement inspired by contemporary events, which first earned him international recognition, and is performed worldwide. Symphony No. 6'Concise' charts a dramatic course between rhythmic dynamism, ceremonial grandeur and lyrical intimacy. Glosa de l'Emigrant is a nostalgic song cast as a sardana, the national dance of Catalonia, and features the beautiful sound of the tenora, a Catalan folk instrument. Brotons' Symphony No. 5 and his Oboe Concerto can be heard on 8.573163.

2019 . Critically acclaimed husband and wife duo Over the Rhine celebrates 30 years of making understated yet emotionally-charged music with Love & Revelation. Self-produced and releasing on their own Great Speckled Dog tag, Over the Rhine's first new music in four years finds the beloved duo in a deeply reflective place, contemplating both personal loss and the wavering of Americas collective compass. 2013s acclaimed double album Meet Me At The Edge Of The World found the pair settling into a new chapter of their lives in rural Ohio. On the other end of the emotional spectrum, Love & Revelation explores the many forms of grief and how we react and process, but as with much of Over the Rhine's body of work, there is often a deep undercurrent of hope.

Following up on their critically acclaimed THE LONG SURRENDER, Over the Rhine returns this fall with the double album MEET ME AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD. The band has again teamed up with Grammy -winning producer Joe Henry to record timeless and vivid songs with striking harmony vocals.
