Diffuser works well for curly hair

I am a hairstylist so anytime I get the chance to try new dryers I’m in. I also have natural curls that I always air dry & never blow dry because my hair gets super frizzy. This dryer is oddly shaped, looks like something from Stars Wars & it’s a bit big but surprisingly lightweight. The nozzle concentrator does what all nozzles do, controls the air flow. I used the diffuser to dry my whole head & it did not frizz & left my hair shiny. The oscillating nozzle was a bit tricky at first & I couldn’t get it to work but it has to be pulled out till it clicks & then it works, it’s suppose to eliminate hot spots & turns when an area is dry. I wasn’t really impressed by this because the center just flutters back & forth & doesn’t really do much. I’ve always used ionic dryers & this is nanoe which supposedly reduces breakage & adds shine, don’t see much difference there. I know using a diffuser takes awhile to dry the hair but this seems to dry slower, I air dried & came back & it still took awhile. It has your typical 3 heat, 3 speed & cold shot button. I was always a fan of Panasonic products, they lasted forever & this is a nice dryer but with the features & style of it,( looks & sounds like a lower price model), I don’t think it’s worth the $160.

Great hair dryer with a real diffuser

Panasonic Nanoe Hair Dryer Short review: This hair dryer works well for wavy, curly, thick hair. I have not used a hair dryer regularly in, probably, 25 years or longer. This hair dryer, however, is the real deal for curly heads. The diffuser is gigantic, and it works perfectly, whether on cool or warm settings. I’ll be honest: I did not think this hair dryer would be anything special, even with the rather high price tag. As a teenager, I got a pretty normal hairdryer that had a few temp settings and speed settings but was nothing very special. It would dry my hair, but it also made my hair very frizzy. I still have this hair dryer, but it mostly gets used for craft projects. Granted, in my high school days, I also had not discovered real product or a haircut that truly suited my hair. Since then, I have gotten good haircuts and good product, but that didn’t fix the hair dryer situation. Even a few months ago, in a hurry, I used a hotel hair dryer for a few minutes just to look less wet before heading to a conference session. The frizzles were getting bad enough that I stopped as soon as I wasn’t dripping. Recently I got a haircut and changed to a new product, I and was very happy with the results from my stylist, who used an overhead dryer and a diffuser on me, though did not dry the hair all the way for maximum curl and minimum frizz. This cut looked great. So, the test was whether this hair dryer could achieve a better result than just air drying: could I come anything close to how I looked leaving the salon? While I won’t say I have managed to style myself as successfully as on the day my hairdresser did the work, I do think that using the dryer results in a better look than air drying and is much faster. The details on this model: The nanoe is pretty simple, but it has some important features. • High and low setting for air volume • Temperature: cool, warm, and hot • Cold shot button • Diffuser attachment (truly a huge diffuser) • Oscillating quick dry nozzle • Concentrator nozzle • Removable filter The “nanoe” part of the dryer means, according to Panasonic, that the air blasting out of the dryer is supposedly infused with moisture, thus becoming “moisture rich nanoe ions” that dry hair more effectively and keeping it moist and shiny during the drying process. I’m not sure there is any way I can confirm that this technology really does anything, but I'm happy with how my hair looks, and that’s all that matters. I’ve used the dryer four times, though the first time I used it was a bit haphazard and I was in a rush. It seemed to work alright, but I didn’t pay much attention to what I was doing. The three next sessions I was more meticulous. I used the cold only setting on low power, for 20-5 minutes of total drying the second time. I used the cold only setting on medium, for 10-15 minutes of total drying time the third time, and I used the warm setting for 10 minutes of total drying time the fourth time. Each time, I used only the diffuser attachment. I will be honest: in the past, I’ve tried using the focus attachment on other dryers, without any positive results. I’m so happy with the diffuser that I have not seen any need to experiment further. It’s possible those work if you’re going for a blow-out or something that folks with sleek, straight hair use. But I have crazy waves and curls that are coarse and thick. The diffuser works perfectly. I had no idea it would be so fantastically huge! This is not an attachment you’ll want to take in your travel luggage—except for the fact that it works so well you might be willing to leave home half your clothes to take this honking dryer (it’s also pretty big) and the diffuser (if you’re a curly). I am surprised, but I think the warm setting actually worked the best. Within 10 minutes, I had my hair dry enough that I didn’t want to risk going any further with the dryer, and the curls were looking good. I’d say it was nearly as dry as the day I left the salon. While a few of my shorter curls in front got a little fried, most of the curls looked shiny and very curly with lots of bounce. (I also styled and used a product from my hairdresser before I used the dryer. Total styling time is probably about 10 minutes before drying.) I was shocked, to be honest, that the warm setting worked without a frizz explosion and so quickly. I used a couple cold shots, but mostly just to test the setting. I was also shocked it worked so quickly. My hair is fairly short right now (for me) but it’s still very thick. The cool and low setting took 25 minutes to get a comparable dry, and while it looked good, I think the warm curls were actually a little cleaner looking (or, I’m getting better at using the dryer). The cool and high setting was alright, but I think was less good than the other options. I think the higher speed resulted in more flyaways, but it was still acceptable looking. Each time I dried, I’d take a section and put it in the diffuser, and dry for 30 second or a minute, then move on to another section, cycling through the hair and focusing on the thickest and longest sections first and more often. This approach seems to work well. I did not test the “hot” setting. It wasn’t needed for me, and as I said above, I didn’t bother with the other attachments because they aren’t right for my hair. I highly recommend it for curly or wavy folks. I will really look forward to being able to dry off in the winter before heading out into the cold. With just a few minutes of work, I’m ready to go. I should add, I’m an idiot at these kinds of things. Literally, I had not dried my hair and used a real diffuser as an adult. I thought it was impossible for me to dry my hair and look half decent. Even at salons, I’ve seen hairdressers struggle to keep my hair from becoming a fluffy frizz patch. This dryer, my current cut, and my product have made even me capable.

    High quality Blow dryer

I usually get cheap blow dryers that last a few years but decided to try out a nice one for once. This hairdryer is amazing! My hair doesn’t look fried or frizzy after using it and it works so quickly. It’s hard to explain but you can just tell when holding it that it’s made of nicer parts. I like the diffuser bowel that comes with it if I want my hair to have some volume and maybe a little less texture. The oscillating head attachment is also really great for a faster dry. Make sure to read the manual because they have great tips for how to use that particular piece. I didn’t know much about the nano science until after receiving it but from experience I really do feel like it us improved the overall health of my hair. The texture is smooth and shiny after each use and the aesthetic appearance is very attractive. I like the all white look. It looks less messy on your countertop in white if it’s out that my old black blow dryer did. Great product that feels like it will last for 7+ years!

    Great hairdryer

I’ll start by saying I have thin hair that dries fairly quickly while using my brush dryer if I let it air dry a bit first. With this dryer I didn’t have to do that and still styled it in the same amount of time. The air flow on this is strong. Perfect for thick hair. My daughter’s hair takes forever to blow dry normally but this Panasonic cut that time in half. Both of us had shiny smooth hair once dried, even with humidity! It comes with 3 head attachments: oscillating, concentrator and diffuser. I personally prefer the concentrator nozzle. The oscillating nozzle was cool and all but I didn’t really see the point honestly. I like a steady air flow to get my hair dried faster. And lastly the diffuser nozzle is great for natural curly styles & again great air flow. This dryer isn’t too heavy and comes with quite a long cord (which some may like and some may not). With my brush dryer the cord gets stuck on the toilet paper holder (which unrolls my toilet paper & causes a mess) but with this one it was getting stuck on the bottom of the cabinet (that’s how long the cord is). Which was annoying but is better than my toilet paper ending up on the ground! Either way I’m glad I have this Panasonic dryer added to my arsenal. It seems well made and will hopefully last for years and years to come!
