2008 digitally remastered featuring two original albums from the queen of Country, together on one CD. Showcase was originally released in 1961, followed by Sentimentally Yours in 1962. This is not your ordinary remix album. The artists, who include, Daedelus, Child's View (Nobukazu Takemura), Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Koen Holtkamp (Mountains), Build An Ark, and Coffee & Cigarettes Band, have taken the original tracks by Turn on the Sunlight (Carlos Ni-ño and Jesse Peterson) and taken them deeper into unexpected dreamlike territories. Be it the multilayered transcendental string work of Miguel Atwood-Ferguson or Child's View lost sound track to an old home movie, the warmth comes blazing through. Daedelus contributes a wonderfully hovering and blissed-out addition as the offering from Koen Holtkamp slowly churns in a psychedelic swirl. There are plenty of twists and turns as Build An Ark travels out in a group improvisation reminiscent of Sun Ra's late 70's work and Coffee & Cigarettes Band takes a laid back deep groove approach to help round out the album.
