About this product

Vinyl LP pressing including . 2018 studio album by Scottish singer and songwriter Paul Haig, previously frontman with cult Postcard post punk legends Josef K. Paul's fourth solo album for Crépuscule since 1983 was written and recorded over a three year period between 2015 and 2018, and explores glitchy, twisty sonic territories in the vein of Four Tet, Floating Points and Love Over Entropy. 'We can think of the wood or forest as a metaphor for the mystery of the human psyche,' says Paul. 'Like the human soul, it can be a place of hidden meanings and unrevealed secrets. I wanted to try and evoke this through the music and worked hard on finding the right balance of electronic and organic sound samples across a broad range of musical genres.'

Paul Haig - The Warp Of Pure Fun - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Digitally remastered and expanded four CD edition of The Warp of Pure Fun, the acclaimed 1985 album by Scottish songwriter Paul Haig, formerly of influential Postcard/postpunk group Josef K. Co-produced by Alan Rankine of The Associates, The Warp of Pure Fun followed a brief flirtation with mainstream dance-pop on the Island Records, and marked a return to warmer, more personal songs and arrangements, live drums and ringing guitars, as well as embracing emergent digital technology such as Akai sequencers and the Kurzweil sampling keyboard. Disc 1 features the original album plus bonus b-sides and mixes. Disc 2 features a fascinating early album demo recorded at home on 4 track equipment, featuring several previously unheard songs, as well as all tracks from Paul's legendary 'lost' second album from 1984, including sublime standout song Shining Hour. Disc 3 features remixes and extended mixes. Disc 4 offers 9 tracks professionally recorded live in Japan in May 1985 (with accompanying radio interview), along with several more demo tracks recorded later that year. Again, several of these songs (Testimony, Wrapped, Bridges) have never heard or released on record before.

Paul McCartney - Mccartney - VINYL LP

Limited 180gm vinyl LP repressing. McCartney is the debut studio album by Paul McCartney. It was issued on Apple Records in April 1970 after McCartney had resisted attempts by his fellow Beatles to have the delayed to allow for Apple's previously scheduled titles, notably the band's Let It Be album. McCartney recorded this solo album during a period of depression and confusion, following John Lennon's private announcement on September 20, 1969 that he was leaving the Beatles, and the conflict over it's further estranged McCartney from his bandmates. Apart from wife Linda's vocal contributions, McCartney performed the entire album by himself, playing every instrument. Featuring loosely arranged (and in some cases, unfinished) home recordings, McCartney explored the back-to-basics style that had been the original concept for the Let It Be (then titled Get Back) project in 1969.

Paul McCartney - Paul Is Live - VINYL LP

Double vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. Paul Is Live, recorded during the tour in support of Off The Ground, was Paul's fifth live album and is famous for it's title's double meaning and the rumor-scotching cover art. Ever since the 1969 of Abbey Road, there had been hoax-fueled stories of Paul's untimely death. The new title was a way of saying that this was most definitely not the case. The artwork is a play on the famous Abbey Road cover, with Paul crossing that same street but wearing shoes and using his left hand this time. (Originally, his bare feet and the holding of a cigarette in his right hand had supposedly been clues that it wasn't him on the cover.) As well as a raft of solo, Wings and Beatles favorites, the album also offers an insight into the band s sound checks, the final three songs all being improvised during rehearsals in various locations on the tour.
